Yes- equal parts vinegar and water should help wash that off and reduce the slipperiness.

I had a new cleaning woman from our service this week. Not sure what she used on the wood floor in the family room but it is slick as ice. I can't imagine she would but am wondering if she used pledge on it. They usually bring all their own supplies but I saw a can of it sitting on the kitchen counter. Didn't think anything about it at the time but each time we step from the kitchen tile onto the floor in there your feed slide. I need to fix this quick we have company coming over. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks all. The vinegar and water did the trick. Hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving!

Slipping and a sliding, movin' and a grovin'. Sorry could not resist. The visual on that is too much lol. Just mop it with water and a bit of vinegar. Should help. Bet she did use Pledge. I have accidentally sprayed on the floor and wow. Like being on ice skates.
NEVER used murphy's oil soap on wood floors. It ruins the surface making screen & coat refinishes impossible. White vinegar & water is the best choice.
White vinegar and water in a spray bottle or Murphy's oil soap. I would do it on hands and knees to make sure I got any residue off. So sorry this happened to you.
I use Murphy oil soap on my hardwoods. My home has virgin pine floors, built in the 1800's. They are not sealed. Didn't know murphys would ruin a floor. So sorry. Just know what I use. :-)
Many blessings and Happy Thanksgiving!!
