Nice candles for the menorah, a bottle of Kosher wine and a great loaf of challah bread. Go to a Kosher market or a Jewish store; there's one on 441 in Mission Bay, Boca Raton.
Hi Mom's!!
My family has been invited to our first Hanukah Celebration( we are not Jewish). I am looking for some ideas for an appropriate Hostess gift.
THANK YOU!!!

have a great time, I am a chanukah hostess and I like for my guests to offer to bring a food for the party, then they neeed bring nothing else. If this doesnt work then you can bring a box of beautiful Chanukah candles, or if you have more money to spend, a Menorah is really nice. Local Synagogues usually have a nice selection in their gift shops, Call ahead as they often keep uncommon hours. I think i would be thrilled with the candles, its thoughtful, appropriate, creative, they can also be found at the synagogue or even sometimes a bed bath and beyond. I also saw a nice box at "THE BOOKSTORE IN THE GROVE". what a great shop and they have a few other Chanukah things.
Have a great night...

Hello! How about some Kosher wine? They have Baron Hertzog wine for about $15 a bottle. The merlot is great! Enjoy the party!
I would probably bring something like this:

A Hannukkah themed bowl or serving platter or something nice like that. I'm not Jewish either, so I'm not familiar with customs or traditions, but as a Christmas celebrator, I know I would love getting a Christmas bowl or something. A useful gift is always a good one I think.
