We've always played 'Pin the nose on the pumpkin', 'guess how many candy corn in the jar', get some mini-pumpkins(the plastic ones) and have a pumpkin hunt, buy miniature pumpkins and let them decorate them with washable markers, prizes for scarriest, funniest, prettiest, etc.,and musical chairs to Halloween music. Those are just a few of the ones we've always played. Hope you have a geat time!!

I know it's a little late for this, but I thought you might be interested for future parties...I've got a children's theme party planning service in the Lexington area. You can check out the website if you're intersted. It's www.partyfavorsforyou.com. We run the whole party for you, or we can mail you a complete party-in-a-box! Hope this helps sometime. Thanks! ~L.

My youngest brother had a Halloween party that they played "donut on a string" game that was a huge hit with the kids. Honestly the adults had a good time with it too.

Get glazed donuts or cake donuts, glazed holds up better we have found, and tie it to the end of a string. make the string long enough to meet someone's face/mouth if they were kneeling and hang it from a door way or the ceiling (we had a paneled ceiling in the great room back then, so a paper clip holding the string did quite nicely clipped onto one of the panel things). You can use tape too though, but it has to be strong tape!

The kids got on their knees and had 30 to 45 seconds (you can pick however long) to eat the donut without using hands (they must keep their hands behind their back). As you can imagine the donut swings around pretty good and you have somewhat limited reflexes while on your knees, so it's a challenging, very funny game. It brought tons of laughter!

The original suggestion on it said multiple kids should try to get to the donut at once, but we found that amounts to a lot of knocking heads.

When I was younger my family used to have huge halloween parties! We used to dunk for apples, play the suck through the straw to pass the paper down your team's line of people, musical chairs, and then my mom every year had to make a game for the older children. She would put different items in a bowl, then tell a scary story. At the end, she would have everyone reach into their bowl, which was covered all except a little slot to stick their hands in, and they'd have to guess what was in their bowl. One would have spaghetti noodles for worms, ketchup for blood, stuff like that. We always loved that game because it was kinda scary.

FOR SOME OF THE OLDER KIDS, I REALLY LIKE BLIND FOLDING THEM AND HAVE THEM TO PUT THIER HANDS IN DIFFERENT THING WHILE THEY ARE DOING THAT, TELL THEM IT GROOS THINGS, THEN TRY TO HAVE THEM GUESS WHAT IT REALLY IS. SOME EXAMPLES, COOK SPEGHETTI NOODLES AND TELL THEM IT IS BRAINS, PEELED GRAPES FOR EYEBALLS, JELLO FOR BLOOD CLOTS, THE INSIDE IF A PUMPKIN(JUST TAKE TOP OFF LEAVE SEEDS AND STINGY STUFF IN) TELL THEM THAT IS THE STOMACH. YOU GET SOME REALLY FUNNY FACES THAT YOU CAN'T PASS UP FOR A PICTURE.
YOU CAN DO A UNIQUE OR PRETTIEST COSTUME CONTEST(BUT DON'T TELL IN ADVANCE).
BOB FOR APPLES OR SO NO GERMS SPREAD, TIE THE APPLES TO YARN OR STRING HANG FROM SOMETHING AT JUST THE RIGHT HEIGHTH FOR THEM TO STILL STAND FLAT FOOTED WHILE THIER ARMS ARE BEHIND THIER BACK THE FIRST ONE TO GET A BITE OUT OF THE APPLE WINS.
THIS COULD WORK FOR THE YOUNGER ONES, GET SOME LOLLIPOPS(BLOW POPS OR TOOTSIE POPS) PAINT THE END OF ONE OR A FEW WHICH EVER AND WHOEVER GETS THE PAINTED STICK GETS A PRIZE. THEY ALL WIN BECAUSE THEY ALL KEEP THEIR LOLLIPOPS.
PINATA THAT IS ALWAYS A HIT FOR ALL AGES. START YOUNG OF COURSE GIVE THEM SOME EXTRA WACKS, THEN BY AGE THE NEXT GOES. ALWAYS SET ASIDE WILL GOODIES FOR THE BABIES SINCE THE OLDEST WILL GET THE CANDY.
YOU CAN ALSO MAKE UP A JAR WITH VARIOUS SIZES AND SHAPES OF CANDY IN IT AND MAKE THEM GUESS, WHICH EVER IS CLOSEST WINS THE JAR OF CANDY. OF COURSE MOMMY AND DADDYS HELP THE LITTLE ONES.
WELL HOPE THIS GAVE SOME IDEAS. GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN!

Well, I am having my first Halloween party for my Mommy and me group I belong too. We are painting pumpkins, I am doing face painting, I want to do pin the wart on the witches nose and that is all I could think of. I searched it online for ideas. We are also having a lunch with "bug juice"(use whatever juice add some raisins and gummy worms), "monster toes"(baked hotdog with tortilla sut out spot for nail and fill with ketchup),"eye balls on a stick"(peeled grapes and a tooth pick)then sandwiches cut out with Halloween cookie cutters. I think the website is verybestkids celebration corner. Hope it helped! I guess I didn't have too many game ideas...sorry ours is a short party. Oh, they do have word searches and things you can print off.

I had a halloween party for my son when he was small and here are some games we played......
Halloween limbo..get a long branch or broomstick and we took black and orange crete paper and swirled it around the stick and let the end frill out some for good looks.

Musical chairs with halloween music was another games b/c that is good for all ages.

Dunking for apples........Bucket with apples and one certain apple had a special prize.

That was a few I can remember hope it helps
