What about a deodorant that is something that makes it so that you shave less? Avon has one. And the one I really like is Certain Dri.
Oka y - I know this sounds strange -- my 17 yr old daughter suffers from realy dark arm pit hair. she shaves every other day if not every day and no matter what razor 1 blade or 4, it always looks as though she hasn't shaved in a week. Her pits stay dark with stubble. Is there anyone out there with a solution? She is embarrased to wear tank shirts and the prom is coming up. We've tried Nair and Neet - what works best for you young ladies out there? All help is appreciated.

Wax for prom (make sure she lets the hair grow for a few days to a week prior). Then look into electrolysis. It may be expensive but if she's going to deal with it for the rest of her life it's probably the best decision for the long run. Good Luck!
I am 36, but the same thing happened to me while I was pregnant and continued after I had my son. I shaved everyday, but it still looked like I hadn't shaved for days. I starting using Dove deodorant and it helped me....quick and painless. Hope this helps, and good luck!!!
Waxing. Hurts really bad but works.
Hi
I am not a teenager but an adult and I have the same problem. I have not tried this myself but I am a hairdresser and we do electrolisis (sp) in our shop. I have been told that this can really help it just might take some time. It can be expensive, depending on how long you have to do it to get rid of it. It is permanent hair removal. Good Luck!!!
I would go the waxing or sugaring route. It's much more effective than shaving and cheaper than electrolysis.
Hi, R.:
Go to an electrolysis. Good luck. D.
Wax. Take her to a salon so she can get it done professionally. If she has that much hair it will probably only take her a couple days to grow it long enough and then take her in. It will last a lot longer than shaving and it gets the hair at the root so she shouldn't have a shadow from it.
Laser electrolysis. Last time I looked - a few years ago, it was $100 per session. It took 3 or 4 sessions to get rid of the hair. And the darker the hair, the better it works.
I don't know how much you want to invest, but I actually had two girls working for me who both had laser hair removal and their feedback was it works best on dark, thick hair as opposed to their finer hairs.
PS they both did it for their armpits - fair skin, dark hair and were very pleased with the outcome.
Wax! It doesn't hurt that much on the arm pits, but it will hurt. Laser hair removal may be good but those I have known to get it - it hasn't worked completely.
.
I've been looking into the laser option myself. It's $100 for both pits each time and most people need at least 3/4 sessions. I was told that my very stubborn hair might even need more, like 5/6 sessions. They advised me that they wait 3-4 weeks between sessions so all the different hairs show up for the next treatment. I've been told there's some pain, like pinching, that goes away. And some women will have a burning smell that also goes quickly once the hair falls off. I was told that winter is the best time to start the process, since you aren't supposed to expose the skin to sunlight afterward. In the winter I saw one office advertise that the first treatment was free. I'd go with wax for prom; this worked for me for my wedding.
My daughter has the same problem and we found a Laser Center in our area for Laser Genesis hair removal. It may be a little costly but it helped her feel better and built her self-confidence now with summer weather and the fashion statements for sleeveless, etc.
The best thing you can do is doing Laser. I am a brunette and dark hair is a must every where you look. I hated so much that when I decided to get rid of my underarm hair, I went to my dermatologist and made an appointment. I took around three sessions to get rid of it and permanently. According to the dermatologist, even the sweat is milder and you do not have to worry about shaving you underarm hair, anymore. That was three years ago and now I am so glad I did it. Waxing and other methods are not permanent and you have to keep doing it, forever. Electrolysis is done hair by hair more costly and longer procedure. Now, go to a dermatologist or doctor's office to do this procedure to be sure is done correctly. Do not go to a hair salon or spa to save money because the laser bime has to be calibrated accordingly. Good luck
