I can't take my hair any longer. Its sooooo thick. The front part is stright and the back is wavy. It is a little bit past my sholder and its hard to wash and takes forever to dry. I dont have some that cuts my hair all the time so I am a little lost. After having 2 baby my face is rounder than it use to be. I have been doing a lot of reading about what the best haircut might be and I am even more confused then befor I started. Some of the hair has to come off but jsut how short do I go with it? Any thoughts would be great!!!

What can I do next?

go to yelp.com and find a salon near you that has gotten good reviews so that you know you can trust their work (tip: read hte reviews; a lot of people drop the name of the stylist who is good). also google face shape and haircuts. it sounds right now like you'd do well with layers (to lighten the weight). if you have money, you could also get magic straight which is about $200 and makes the hair stick straight for about 6 months (a lot of Asians get this done). Makes hair look polished and like you spent a lot of time on making it look nice.

Go to a decent salon and ask what they think. I have wavy hair & the longer it is, the more psycho it looks. :-)
I don't think you could go wrong with a layered bob (bangs or not) maybe that angles forward (longer at front). It will still leave you the option to go shorter in the future if you want to.
Good luck!

You could go shorter or you could go with layers (which would lighten the weight). Find someone you are comfortable with and ask their advise (meaning a hair dresser so you get a professional opinion). Just be sure to let them know if some things are out of the question (like nothing shortern than or can't be asymetrical).

An A-line cut can be very flattering to a rounder face. It is shorter in back than in front, and for mine at least, the back is very layered. I blow-dry with a round brush, and with all the layers, it helps getting up to the roots. The long front kind of frames the face, but its short enough to not be bothersome.

Of course, the best thing about hair is that, if you try something and hate it, its only a short time until it grows back and you can try something else. Very non-permanant!

My hair is similar to yours, and depending on your face shape (Mine is oval but with a, er, soft chin line), this is a cut that might work. It's a sort of modified bob. Here's what I've done - overall length between chin and shoulders (closer to shoulders in my case), long layers around my face to give that area some shape and movement. I've been told bangs would be cute, but I don't like them. The back slightly shorter than the front, with layers cut in to make the curl work for me instead of against me. So from the side there's a slight angle down from back to front, with my hair falling toward, but not into, my face. I wish I could draw a picture - it's hard to describe in a way that make sense. Anyway, with long layers it is still possible to get my hair up if I want to, but the layering and thinning help control the bushy mass that is my hair.

Good luck. Just remember that for all that it's difficult to work with, thick hair is something many women envy us having.

I have thick and wavy hair in the back too. I always get mine layered to take some of the thickness off. I usually do about shoulder length and prefer it to be an angled cut. I also LOVE my flat iron. However sometimes I use gel to make all of it wavy.

I have similar hair & a round face and got a reverse bob (longer in the front) with layering. It looks pretty good, is short enough to dry quickly (when before my hair could take 2 days to dry on it;s own), and I don't have to DO anything to it.

Make sure you get it cut off to donate it before you get it styled.

I usually just go to someone my friends recommend, and tell them to 'make me pretty' with an easy style. I tell them not to go shorter than wherever I point, and let them have at it. I hate bangs, so, I do specify no bangs, and I don't like layers around my face. Other than that, I let the stylist 'make me pretty'!

I'm a stylist. Without looking at the actual texture and wave pattern of your hair, it's hard to tell exactly. But, I think maybe a little swing bob would be cute. The layers will help with the weight and it will be ever so slightly longer in front, so will be soft around your baby rounded face. One with light layers, that you can enhance your wave and the front/top can still be straight, or you can flat iron the back down and flip the front out for a sassy look as well. Perhaps cut about 2-3 inches above your shoulder line.

Think Kirstern Dunst, who also has a round face with a similar wave pattern (though her hair is pretty thin).

Also, while donating your hair is good and all, it does not sound like your hair is long enough for that.

Lots and lots of layers! Shorten it by 6 inches and have lots of layers and bangs. I have a round face and thick hair so I feel your pain.
