I am a hairstylist, so it depends if they are also going to give you a shampoo or not and style it. If not, I would pay on the lower end.
$20 - $45
How much would you pay someone to have your hair cut, about 4-5 inches? They work out of their home. Thanks!

Is there a somewhat professional set up at the home? Would there be a hair washing? Proper sterilization of tools, etc.? Is the person a trained, licensed professional?
Since your post is lacking in major details, I would probably say no more than $25 bucks. I might pay more to someone I knew was really good or knew really well.
Well you are not very specific about how detailed the cut will be...but I think somewhere between $20-$30?
I pay $35 for myself, $20 for my husband and $15 for my boys. Plus a 15% tip.
A haircut is a haircut, whether its 1/4 inch or 14 inches. Just ask the price before, most people do. Then you can decide whether to have her do it or go to a salon. I would expect to pay around $20.
I pay $40/cut for my long hair.
It doesn't matter how much you're having cut off. I pay $55, but that is in a salon. I've never gone to someone's home, but I think that would be less. Enjoy your new look!
What is the price range in your local market? How complicated is the cut? Are you having other services done? Does this person have a lot of experience? Is it more convenient for you than going to the salon?
I've seen at home haircuts range from $12-$200.
Good luck to you and yours,

Most of the people I know that do it out of their home seem to charge on the lower end. They aren't paying anything to a salon owner to rent a station out. I usually pay 35+tip at a salon, so maybe 25.00. Ask her what she usually charges.
How much were your quoted? It depends on your market as well.
I am in a northern burb of Dallas. I pay my stylist $50 for haircut only plus 20% tip. My hair is straight as an arrow long hair all 1 length. She has a suite in a large building with several other suites ranging in size.
I would not pay her less just because she might be working from home and I would pay her more if I needed her to come to my home as she does for clients who need it.
4-5 inches is a good bit of hair to cut, depending on the condition of your hair as well. I don't think abyone would do that less than $50 around here unless you are in some chop shop or a beauty school and not using a professional.
Good luck
