Hello!
I had a baby 3 months ago now and really feel like I need a makeover. I haven't lost all of my baby weight yet, but want to do something to boost my confidence and have a new look. I need recommendations for a hair stylist (any price range) but I want someone that really has some vision and is an artist. someone that can look at my face and body and make a suggestion for a new style. The same with color. I'd love a new cut and color
Suggestions anyone?

What can I do next?

Dear L.:

I know that feeling well,,, in fact each time after one of my five children were born I could have used a makeover..

I have a granddaughter in law who looks so gorgeous even in her eighth month of pregnancy and has so much style and artistry. She is interested in helping people look their best from head to toe. That is the profession she plans to start and I would highly recommend her since she is still in the beginning of this career. If you would like to contact her please let me know....

I am sending your request to her so you may hear from her directly..her name is Sirena.

Blessings on you and your beautiful baby boy!!! (Sirena is expecting a second boy)

I have a wonderful stylist in Campbell, CA. Her name is Michelle and she is at Rage Salon on Campbell Avenue. She was wonderful to me. I've been going to her for at least three years and she worked with me during all my phases and even put her foot down after I had given birth, was hormonal, and asked for a drastic cut- she had worked with me for at least two years prior and knew me well enough recommend that I wait a few months before going that drastic- I eventually got it cut above the shoulder (I started with her when my hair was nearly at my waist). I am very happy with all the styles I've left her chair with. She has even gone so far as to re-wet and cut my hair after blow drying when it didn't turn out the way I had envisioned. She really listens and does everything she can to have you leave completely satisfied.

Karen Quisol at Faux Salon in Campbell. Cuts are about $60. She's taken care of my hair for over 15 years and is great. She'll want info about you as she helps you find the perfect style. Knowing my lifestyle she's given me a cut that takes 4-6 minutes to style every other day. As for color, we just transitioned my hair from highlites to natural color without a hint of a transition line. I've had other stylists (at my nail techs salon) comment on how natural the transition looked. Until this year, she's handled my color as well. When I get bored with my style, and I do, Karen tweeks it a bit to create something a little different while maintaining ease of maintenance. I can't say enough good things about her. ####-###-####

I love Gina Estep at Rootz Salon in Los Gatos. Definitely at the more pricey end of the scale, but she always gets perfect shades of color for me and I get lots of compliments on my hair color. I just have long layered hair so not very much scope on the style side! She does consults so you can always go and see her and see what she suggests.

Dipietro Todd salon if you are in Bay Area..They are pricey $100 for cut alone and color typically starts at $175 but if you are looking for an artist this is the place..every dollar is well spent..good luck.

You are putting a lot of trust in someone you don't even know. I would look at pictures of hair styles and bring in examples to talk with them and be on the same page, so important.

Don't forget, usually cute hair = blow drying, etc. They tend to be high maintenance and with a 3 mo old, that's tough.

Take it from me, I did the same thing and went from hair down to my butt to above the sholders and it's been high maintenance ever since. The shorter you go, actually the more time you have to spend on it sometimes.

Good luck. I use a lady named Lorraina @ Allure Salon in MV. I think she charges about $58. I always bring a picture and she does exactly what I ask and provides input if I need it.
