I am getting my hair cut today and want to get somehting classy but different, my hair is thick and wavy so i want something that would work with my hair type, right now it is about 3 inches below by shoulders like right by my shoulder blades and i part my hair to the side and have some side swept bangs as well, want like 4 inches off or so, can anyone give me ideas on how to get it cut? I do not like the bobs or a semetrical cuts
I have layers in right now, Ive always done layers to get rid of some bulk
Short layers would give you a more classic look and you could get your bangs cut to frame your face.

I have wavy hair and I have tried what you have. I have lately settled on and love shorter hair in the back and longer in the front. Not too long. A whisp of bangs and I let it dry naturally. Longer layers.My hair dresser has commented how it seems perfect for my curls/waves. So I have sticking with this for a while. Easy to keep up.
Long layers on shoulder length hair are VERY in right now and VERY versatile!! I just read this spread about it and they had pictures, and this one woman had like 16 very different hair styles and they all looked STUNNING.
If I get my hair, hello red headed afro, BUT, that cut was gorgeous, flirty, fun, classic... you could still do anything with it that short with the long layers!
Just remember that if your hair is wavy and you cut it in layers, especially short layers, it's going to curl more and shrink up even shorter.
