Can anyone recommend a good hair salon or someone that you trust to cut you hair? I have had the worst luck finding a good salon or someone that listens to what I want. I could write a book on who not to go to. I have left so many salons mortified as the stylest raves how good I look. Then when you go to pay for the bad cut its like the other stylests gather round, its like the Stepford stylests so now I'm so uncomfortable I just want to leave. Why bother with a consult when they do the opposite of what I wanted. Any suggestions? Thanks

If you're willing to drive to Salem for a haircut, the Total Effect on Main st is wonderful. I see Alissa- I have been going there about 8 years now maybe more actually. She even did my hair on my wedding day. She is very talented and a good listener. I've never left there with something weird that I haven't been able to duplicate at home. Stacey R

I have been very happy with Janet at On-Line Hair Salon.
Her salon is in the basement of her home at 6 Linebrook Rd. in Atkinson on the Plaistow/Atkinson Line. She is good at suggesting styles but not pushy. She seems to know when I'm ready for a change and if I'm hesitant she makes suggestions while I'm deciding what to do. Very patient. Her # is ###-###-####.

i have been happy with jill at salon 1712 in haverhill, it is located just under the overpass of the train, near all the downtown restaurants. i usually do a cut and color with her and she has adjusted both to any request i ahve made. good luck!

I go to Alixia Salon in East Hampstead- it's just a few short minutes off of 125 as I live in Haverhill. Courtney Gray is wonderful and will do just what you like, and its a nice salon and reasonable too. Give her a call ###-###-####.

I go to Bubbles and Styles in Salem NH. Kathy Brown is the stylist I use, but just from going so many times, all 3 of the girls are very personable and always seem to be doing what the customer wants. Good luck!

I found someone I really like! Her name is Roberta and she works at the Philip Ciampa salon in Lexington, MA. I'm not sure how far that is from Plaistow. I live in Windham and it is a 45 min drive for me, but, I think she is worth it. She really listens! She has owned a salon of her own and has trained many stylists over the years. Even though she has been in the business for a long time, her skills are current with what's happening today. In fact, just the other day, a woman came up to me and asked where I got my hair cut. That has never happened to me before! I found Roberta by asking a stranger where she got her hair cut! HA
I don't have her number with me, however, I just googled philip ciampa salon and found her location in Lexington.
