Hair Loss Problem - Glendale,AZ

In the end of March 2007 I found out that my 3 years old daughter doesn't have half of right eyebrow and left eyelashes looked very thin. When I asked her what happened she did not explane well and said the girl at school did something. I did not panic because I was sure it will grow back but it was not coming back for 3 month so then I called the dermatologist for an appointment and had to wait for month and a half to be seen. A doctor said it is alopecia(her immune system mistakenly attacks hair follicles, which is where hair growth begins)and gave us some cream to apply twice a day for 6 weeks. Soon we are going to see the doctor again and there is no positive result from that cream.
I also read some information about this kind hair loss and there are chances that it might grow back and might not. It really upsets me because she is a girl and it is on the face and nowhere else. The time is also important because it has to be treated as soon as possible or the problem will become permanent.
Maybe someone knows the answer how to treat this problem, any suggestions, I would really appreciate that.

I'm sorry to hear about what your daughter has. My father has the same thing and so did his mother. Unfortunately Alopecia runs in my family. It's usually genetic from what I hear. Have you checked your family history?

Hi D.,
I don't know how her eyelashes became gone, but a childhood firend of mine and her little sister cut off their eyelashes when they were little and playing around, and it took them two years to grow back to normal. Again, I don't know what happened to hers, but if this is the case, you can be a little reassured the eylashes will come back.

I am sure its hard to imagine what kind of teasing she will run into later, but I wanted to let you know that if thats the only affected area I think you are lucky. I took care of a 7 year old girl that had no hair anywhere except a one inch circle on the back of her head. I know this doesn't minimize your daughters situation, but it could be worse. Maybe you can use eyebrow pencil on it as she gets older. Then when old enough she could have it tattooed on they have very realistic makeup tattoos now. Goodluck. I think the bigger deal you make of it the more it will bother her.

Hi D.,

My name is M. and I am a licensed acupuncturist. 11 years ago I lost most of my hair and everytime I went to western doctors they could not give me a straight answer as to why I was losing my hair so I turned to Chinese Medicine. My hair has grown back but it is not as thick as it was until I started taking an immune modulator supplement by Orenda International located in Tempe, AZ. Since taking the immune modulator my hair is not falling out. This is the first product that has really impressed me. The immune modulator is safe for children. I give it to my 2 year old son everyday to boost his immune system and when he is sick I usually give him a couple more a day and within 2 days he is completely fine. I have information on the product that I would like to share with you. You are more than welcome to contact me at the wellness spa I work at. The name is Mind, Body & Soul and the number is ###-###-####. I hope to talk to you soon!
