I used to washed my hair everyday, but for about a year now I do that every other day, I started to eat oatmeal cause I've heard this is good for the hair. ??? I don't see any difference. I have normal life with no major problems, I try to eat healthy...
What should I do?
Thank you

is your hair thinning at all (i.e. do you notice a difference in the hair on your head)? or do you just feel as though you are losing more? i was sick in highschool and lost a lot of weight, which later resulted in my hair thinning (but after i was healthy again, hair went back to normal or at least i think) . . . so i have always been extra conscious about the hair in the comb and on the floor or in the tub . . . i notice that i go up and down with how much hair i find . . . and sometimes i wonder how i could have any left on my head (i sometimes shed more depending on the time of the year or even when i have my period) . . . your hair now is a result of six months ago . . . did you change anything back then diet wise? even a loss of ten pounds can cause an adjustment . . . i personally take a hair/skin/nail vitamin . . .

to be honest, if you are washing your hair every other day, maybe you are losing little on the non wash day and two days worth on the wash day?

if you don't notice a difference in the hair on your head, i wouldnt even give it another worry . . . but if you do, i would definately (for peace of mind) visit a dermatologist . . . good luck . . .

I have a friend who had the same problem, and it turned out that her thyroid was out of whack. You might want to talk to your doctor if it keeps happening. Hers was an easy fix with meds.

Losing hair like that is a sign of a thyroid issue. Do you have cold hands and feet too? You may have subclinical hypothyroid and can go unseen even in the simplist blood tests. Adding coconut oil to you diet will help nourish your thyroid. It is good anyways to add. Here a couple of articles for you to read just in case.

P.:
I agree with the other posters about changes, stress, or possible thyroid condition. If you haven't experienced anything in the last 6 months to bring this about, then do get it checked. I do recommend as well vitamins and supplements. We can't possibly eat all that we should and I swear by the nutritionals I use. My hair grows faster than I want it to! I would also recommend a great botanical product that really works to stimulate the hair follicles with thermal fusion.

I am a health and wellness consultant and use a great line of botanically based products that really do have proven results. I would be happy to share some information with you if you would like to email me. Hormones are ever changing for us lucky women. You could also be imbalanced there and I have information about hormone balancing as well. Good luck to you and let me know if I can help you out.

The 3 main reasons women loose hair is because of 1) hormones, 2) health issues or 3) genetics. Going on/off the pill, child birth, perimenospause, menopause are all culprits of thining hair. But so are stress, thyroid issues, immune issues and/or if other women in your family naturaly thin as they age. I would definitely see a doctor about it regardless. A few simple blood tests can rule out a lot and give you a much better peace of mind.

One thing that can cause hair loss is Birth Control. Depending on the method you use it can be minor or significant and it is basically the result of the hormones. Even if you are not one taking any form of Birth Control, one thing that can help control the hair loss is a vitamin supplement but, in order for it to be effective it has to contain Cystein or L-Cystein. There are a lot of supplements out there that claim to be good for your hair but, unless they have this component, they won't be able to stop the hair loss.
In any case take lots of calcium and talk to your doctor in case it is the BC causing the problem.

Hope this helps
