Hair Hair Everywhere!!!

OK ladies, am I the only one sweeping up hair all day, every day??? No matter how many times I sweep, vacuum, and mop my floors there is still hair everywhere. Am I missing something??

I have long hair and we also have a cat, but it seems like my long hair is outnumbering the cat hair. Seriously. I think if I collected and kept all the hair I could make a wig.

We have hardwood floors and only two area rugs, which I vacuum every day. I'm not sure what else I could do except sweep, vacuum, and mop.

I love hardwood floors, but I am reaching the point of wanting wall to wall carpeting just so I could vacuum it up easier.

I was talking to my husband about this earlier and he laughed and told me I should start wearing a hair net. LOL. I'm considering it. 8)

***Before anyone wonders about my thyroid, it has been checked 3 times this past year. I also gave birth seven months ago so I know that a lot of the hair loss is related to that.

What do you wise ladies do to keep hair off your floors?? Is there some secret I am missing??

Thanks in advance.

Peace.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you so much ladies. I don't feel so alone anymore. I knew I wasn't the only one out there constantly sweeping and vacuuming.

I guess I need to invest in a better vacuum and move into a larger space. lol.

Thank you so much for sharing your own experiences and tales of hair woe.

Do you live in a small place? It could just be that it is building up faster with less space for it to go.

brush your hair before you shower VERY WELL, comb your hair IN the shower with your conditioner in, brush your hair before going to bed and first thing when you wake up. You may also want to consider a cut, not a huge cut and more than a trim. I keep a brush by my bed to do this, my hair is crazy sheddy and it is short these days as well but it used to be to my butt and that was craziness with the taming of the shedding ... but brushing often and use a natural hair brush my fav is a boars hair/nylon combo ... no boars are hurt in the creating of MANY boars hair brush lines, their hair catches the fall out best IMO.

**edit it is normal to shedd hair daily and in a large amount ... to tell if you are suffering from hair loss take an amount of hair that would fit thru a straw and tug firmly but gently you do not want to RIP it out but if you loose more than 5 strands then you may be looking at hair loss. In most cases is is not breakage unless you go too long between for trims/cuts

i have the same issue - of course, i'm the only girl in my house - i just keep my hair in a bun most days. I actually get most annoyed when I am folding the laundry and it's all there.
The girl who cuts my hair said that there are a lot of shampoos now that are targeted at less breakage. I haven't looked into it yet because I'm just happy with my pantene. (which is probably why i should switch!)
I have hardwood floors too and I have hairy dust bunnies with bows!

I have the same problem - there are 4 of us girls (although one of them in 7 months and the other will be 2 next week) I constantly have hair everywhere. I was so glad to see your post hoping that there would be some great information from someone else on how to keep it under control.

I will keep checking back. I think your husbands idea of a hair net may not be such a bad idea! LOL

OMG!!! So its not just my house that has a hair fountain in it? lol In our house there are 3 girls, 3 boys, and a dog...
I gave up trying to keep it off the floors and dress the 10 month old in sleeper jammies (the fuzzy ones that get lots of static built up in them) then she just rolls around the house... She is a human lint brush for the floors. lol (Ok, so that happened once and now i won't put those on her anymore... ) Vacuuming and swiffer is all I can do... and it still grows... My house is cousin Itt... :-)

I feel the same way!
I don't know where it keeps coming back, well of course our heads (lol) but there are times that I clean our bathroom floor and I get out do something and in my way back I find a hair!
I feel my hair is playing trick on me and falling behind my back as soon as I leave!

We, a three long-haired girls/women, one bald man, one dog family with hardwood floors vacuum every day. Seriously, every single day. Besides super-gluing it to our heads, I know of no other solution. And I think we can agree that cure is worse than the disease. Bond with your vacuum cleaner, I know I have.
If this sounds like too much, and no one could blame you if it does, you could bond with the hair balls instead and invite them to live out of sight under the sofa.

It is currently waiting for parts but I have a Hoover Petminder BUT I also use a rubber broom and swiffer/swiffer vac in between. We have an inside dog that should NOT shed the copious amounts he is (btdt tried it with additives/adjusted diet with the vet. He is just weird) and 6 of the 7 of us Sardines packed in here have shoulder length or longer hair. I have 'fake hardwood'
Due to health issues I can't run the Hoover every day but when it is working (**I** broke the belt it wasn't a design flaw)
I try every other day. The rubber broom seems to work better on carpet but that could just be me:)))

I have more problems with dust bunnies and dust from the traffic. I do find that vaccum cleaners mean a lot. Some do pick up better than others. I find the new Bissell I got picks up a lot better than my Hoover. Also, we vaccum the dog. Yes, you heard that right. He gets vaccumed every time I vaccum the floor. He follows me around the house until I stop and vaccum him. Unfortunately, the cat won't do that soooooo....Hubby takes the animals outside and "sheds" them by vigorously petting them. All the fur flies everywhere and the birds use it as nesting material.

This happened to me when I stopped nursing. I think it's pretty normal and will stop heppening soon.
