I had really good hair extensions (real hair ones) put in a few years ago and had them for about 6 months. They were threaded in (not glued). If you have thinning hair on top, it is hard to cover where they are placed in at the crown (they are placed all over, but that is the hardest spot to cover with your own hair) so I was always self conscious of that. My hair was a disaster when I had them taken out - broke very easily, thin, and pretty damaged. Also, my scalp never really felt clean when I had them in. It was fun (I had short hair any my extensions went almost to my waist and the hair was wavy), but I wouldn't do it again.
