I have been doing home treatments for the last 2 months, but this is the first time I need to dye my hair. Which should I apply first; the keratin then the dye? The dye then the keratin? Have you done this before? Are you a professional hair stylist? TIA for your help.
just had keratin done a few weeks ago for the first time. THey asked me when I had last colored hair and it had been a few days before. they said good and said to wait at least 2 weeks to do it after the treatment. SO.... agreed with the others - color then keratin.
I have had color then the Brazilian Blowout keratin treatment done at the same appointment, no waiting in between processes necessary. Color first, then the keratin treatment. The keratin actually helps your hair hold the color longer, because it seals it in. I've had it done 3 times, no problems.
Never did at-home keratin treatments but at the salon I was told to dye the hair first, the day before or wait two weeks after the keratin treatment to dye.
You need to wait 2 weeks in between. You don't do them together. This comes from several of my hair stylists, by the way, and applies to salon appolied keratin and color. I have never done home treatments, only professional. You should have the kerating treatment done at Ulta. The one that lasts from 4 to 5 months is terrific.

I am a hairstylist, I would suggest coloring first, then do the keratin treatment. Any kind of conditioning treatments I always do after color, unless there are some unusual circumstances.
Most at home Keratin treatments are NOT good for color treated hair - I would verify that first.
