Has anyone had a good experience with one of the many "hair vitamins" that are out there? Some say to go with biotin alone but the combo vitamins for hair/skin etc have tons of other things in them too. I had a slight iron deficiency and went through a period of a lot of stress that left my hair much thinner than it used to be and it doesn't seem to be growing back. Maybe it is just me getting older also, I don't know. I had bloodwork done and thyroid is fine and I didn't just have a baby. There are many mixed reviews online so I wanted to see if anyone else has personally used a specific hair vitamin that worked to increase growth. Thanks!!

What can I do next?

the best thing I have found is prenatal vitamins and a good hair care regime ... I have not tried any of the combos since I have not had any issues with my hair but my M. liked the NIOXIN brand of hair care products after she had a surgery that often results in hair loss. She said that many cancer patients use this to help stimulate hair growth after chemo/radiation and it worked well for her.

Biotin
Food grade diatomacious earth (source of silica)
1 tablespoon of black strap molasses (source of sulfur)
When I want to speed up my hair growth, 1 serving each of the above every day will double my growth rate. (1/2 inch a month to 1 inch a month).

Hi Robyn I had the same problem but for different reasons and my husband heard Dr, Laura mention on her show Ovation and OMG new hair growth, and longer and thicker hair, I love this product, it's not cheap for a little goes a long way and I will never use store bought shampoo conditioner or cell theorpy for hair ever again. Go on line and you can order it. J.

For me pre-natal vitamins work the best the over the counter ones- I take them once a week or my hair does not grow at all
