Hi, Moms.

I am trying to find a good gymnastics programs for my 4.5 year old son. I would like a facility in which the coaches are good, considerate and caring of the children, and keep the children active during the time they are there. The caring part is really important because I don't want him to be "turned off". I'm not expecting a future Olympian, but I know he enjoys the challenges, plus it helps with his mild sensory integration.

I have been to an facility several times with my mom's group for playdates. My son has fun there, but it seems like the people who run it and/or coach aren't very sensitive.

Thanks for your advice.

try Southlake Gymnastics Academy. My almost 4 year old started there a few weeks ago and she loves it. They are in the 280 Sports building on 1709 behind the QuikTrip. You can do a free trial class to see if he likes it...that's what we did and ended up signing her up that same day.

Try the NRH parks and recreaton recreation center for an affordable and friendly start to his future. Caring instructor with loads of experience and again, affordable...a no-pressure way to start his love of the sport. At his age, he'll develop and you can move to a more competitive atmosphere with "coaches", etc. Good luck. Their number is ###-###-#### or http://www.nrhtx.com/pdf/discover_brochure_new.pdf

Sunbelt Gymnastics in Colleyville - my granddaughte has been there for the past 2.5years and we wouldnt consider going anywhere else. The coaches are amazing and they keep them iterested and busy.
Give them a try. They also have 2 really great men coaches - Mr. Steve and Mr. Micheal that are wonderful.

I have heard great things about Classic Gymnastics in Hurst off of Brown Trail just south of 183. I know numerous people who go there and they all love it.

We've just discovered Top Flight in Southlake. Their male coaches are more sensitive and in tune with the boys than previous gyms we've tried. SW

Hello! Although my kids are older, I would recommend Southlake Gymnastics Academy. They show tremendous care for all the children. The owners are parents of three young boys and are very hands on. They have hired great coaches as well. Both my kids are new to gymnastics and can't wait for their lesson each week! The website for SGA is www.southlakegymnastics.com and their # is 888 FLIP GYM.
Best of luck!

I have twin boys who have been at Sunbelt gymnastics for the past year. We love it. They have Mr.Steve and he has been wonderful for them. They keep them moving the entire hour and the boys have so much fun! I was shocked by all they had them doing at just 3-4 yrs old. It has been a great experience and I would highly recommend Sunbelt!

I take my sons to Top FLight gymnastics. They have a great program geared for boys. We also loved Sunbelt gymnastics when my first son was younger but at the time they did not have a program for boys after the age of three. I am not sure if that has changed. Top Flight in Southlake has a great program for boys. We love it.

You might consider martial arts classes as boys of his age generally love kicking and punching. It's high in energy, and they teach boys to only use their skill in the center and not at home. They have special program for the 4 and 5 year olds called Lil' Tigers.

You will also notice amazing improvement in focus, discipline and respect towards you as parents.
There is a fantastic center on E. Southlake Blvd., right next to Kroger.

Visit them at www.powerofkarate.com or call ###-###-####. They have two full time instructors and they are just amazing with kids.

While it's not exactly in the area you specified, it's not much farther AT ALL... EveryBody Fits in Coppell (just east of Grapevine) is a fantastic facility! My 12 year old daughter has been going there for years and I've seen all kinds of kids there. The gymnastics program is run by Kim Zmeskal and her husband, Chris Burdette (former Olympians), but the programs are for ALL kids. Not only do they have gymnastics there, but they have trampoline only classes (my daughter's favorite - she also won't be an Olympian), Tae Kwon Do, Sports Skills, Art, Guitar, Dance, Cheer, etc. etc. etc.

While it might be a little farther than you were wanting to go (it's at the corner of Denton Tap and Sandy Lake), the place is amazing and might be worth a look.
