J.K.
At a young age (about 2yrs), my son would vomit every time he got the hiccups. Just sounds like something may be aggravating the digestive system. Keep us updated if you find any answers. I'd be interested in finding out what causes this.
Every few months our 4 1/2 year old son has a week or two where he throws up after many of his meals. It happens at school, at home, anywhere he may be. It's so weird because it'll stop as fast as it comes on.
He gets sick and then he's perfectly fine. We're pretty sure it's: not a food allergy, he's not sick, eating too fast or is over tired. I'm just wondering if he's in a growth spurt and it throws his body off?
On the 'upside' he knows how to get to the bathroom fast and not freak out if I'm not immediately right there with him. My tough little guy gets so sad and says "sorry for the puke weapon mom." Not sure where that came from but it's so sweet and pathetic.
ADD: The doctor doesn't see an issue because it's not all the time and goes away for months and then pops back up. He says "sometimes kids just puke." I think I'll look into the reflux idea though. We're just at a loss right now.

What does the doctor think?
Sounds like a digestive problem or a reflux problem.
Too much of this can lead to Esophageal problems. in the future. also his teeth can be affected if he does not remember to brush his teeth afterwards.
You should consider getting a second maybe even third opinion. It may be reflux or it may be something else. I understand that kids sometimes just puke, but not on a regular enough bases for you to be worried about it. good luck I hope you are able to find some answers.
My daughter was similar...it got to the point where she was throwing up blood because it was just tearing up her esophagus. No fun. Her doctor said it was probably a reflux disease...it's more common around kids that age (she peaked around 4.5 - 5 years old...then tapered off). Hers was the worst in the morning. We just watched her and brought her in when it got real bad so they could given her some anti-nausea type medicine (one Dr., when our regular was out, prescribed a suppository...UGH...try explaining THAT to a 6 year old!). Dehydration was always the biggest concern. She'll be 8 in about a week and I think it's only happened once in the last year...and if I recall correctly it was early last year...used to be once every month or so...lasting about 3-4 days. Hopefully your son outgrows it soon...it is really not pleasant :(
