Growth on Arm

My son has something called JXG (juvinile xograntholomam) not sure on the spelling of that. It is basically he has these things that look like moles all over his body, I took him to the dermatoligist and they said he would grow out of it, that one day they would just disapear and it should happen by the time he is like 5-6, somewhere in there. Until this happens he has to see the dermatoligist once a year and the optamologist once a year because if they do get into your eyes they can blind you. I know it sounds really bad with them getting into the eyes but the optamoligist told me that you will be able to see it if one started growing there so I just look at his eyes and still take him once a year to have him checked. I don't know if this is what your daughter has or not.

My oldest son had a mole on his upper arm when he was three. It would be fine for awhile then literally explode blood. It is very frightening to see blood squirt across the room without warning! In his case it was a "blood mole" and they told me it was very unusual but not dangerous. They removed it in a simple out-patient procedure (after about half the hospital personnel came through to see it). Sorry I don't remember the proper name for it.

He has never had any more problems with bleeding moles and at the time really enjoyed the attention. Hopefully, this is what your daughter has.

It sounds like it could be a mangioma (unsure on spelling). It is basically a build up of blood under the skin. Many small children get them. Most of them go away with time, with some sticking around, and possibly getting bigger, over a period of a few years. Others need to be removed if they are causing a problem. And with it bleeding it sounds like it is causing a problem. If this is a mangioma, they are harmless and there is nothing to worry about. Good luck, and don't stress yourself about it. Some things look worse than they really are.

Hey sorry to hear about your poor little one. I hope everything works out for you. I have not heard of something like this but it does not sound unusual to me. It is probably nothing to worry about. So, try not to panic. K i know it is hard when it is your child going through something like this. I will be praying for you and I wish you all the best.

I had a growth on my toe when I was a kid, and one of my daughters has had a couple of them. We were referred to a pediatric dermatologist, and none were cancerous! There are a lot of weird benign things that our bodies can do. In my case, they did cut it off and biopsy it. In my daughter's case, the dermatologist froze one of them off, and "watched" the others - they eventually receded. I think the dermatologist will comfort you, one way or the other.
