I nurse my 2nd child, 5 months old. The only time I pump is one time at work. I work 3 times a week. I am a nurse and I work night shift. I usually pump at 6 am. I know that foremilk is grey but each bottle from each side is grey. 6 oz on my right and 3 oz on my left. He totally drives my right breast, he prefers that side. this has been going on for awhile. Never had this with my first. Milk pumped withe her was always the normal yellow/white color. thanks

What can I do next?

Sometimes the color of my milk changed if I ate something different. Anything new in your diet? New medication? Does he seem turned off by the flavor?

I pumped for my son , never had grey milk ever. Maybe you should ask a professional- lactation consultant/ baby's pediatrician, just to be very sure.

How about asking a lactation consultant? They probably get questions like this and would know the answers.

It sounds like you are only getting the foremilk out. I would talk to a lactation consultant, but if your child is gaining well I would not worry about it.

My other thought would be that maybe your milk is lacking some of the fat? But if your child is gaining well, then I would not worry it is likely fine.

Good luck.
