This may be a bit far for you, but I use Dr. Marc Dandois in Carrollton (he's close to Josey & Hebron). He is gentle and will do sedation dentistry if requested. You can find his webpage online by searching under Dandois.
I am looking for a great dentist. I have always had problems going as I had a really harsh dentist when I was a child. Prefer one that can either do sedation or laughing gas as I really tense up. If they take children also, thats all the better, but I am more worried about myself at this point as my children are braver than I am. :{. Please help me find one. I live in Denton but willing to drive to lewisville, flowermound, I will almost drive to Dallas if you tell your dentist is AWESOME (though I may not believe that one :)

I'mt he same way, would rather be punched in the face than have my teeth whitened. Dr. Amy Horton in Carrollton is the best I HAVE EVER BEEN TOO. I found her on a fluke and now my family, extended family and half my office go to her. PS - when you are getting your teeth cleaned STRESS that you need someone gentle...there is a hygenist that's alittle rough but the others are awesome and Dr. Amy takes the fear out of going, I promise!! ###-###-####
OMG! You are so like me!!! I cry just getting a cavity filled! Dr. Alan Gross is awesome!!! I have to be sedated with drugs and laughing gas and he has no problem with it! My sister is a dental hygeniest there and super sweet! He's super great with my kids also, have two kids there are 3 and 7. Daughter has had a ton of work done by him and never once cried! Unlike me, of course! His number is ###-###-#### and his website is www.smilecorinth.com
I have the BIGGEST phobia of dentists!!!! He is the only one I would go to now!!!
I would recommend my dentist to anyone he is great and really patient....they always have laughing gas available when you need or want it.... My dentist name is Dr. Morton with Dossett Dental 6959 Arapaho Suite #595
Dallas, Tx 75248.....Phone Number:###-###-####
The BEST is Dr. Steven Fuqua D.D.S. in Southlake. An amazing dentist that is so kind, gentle, and takes everything very slow. Plus he has two extra years of training beyond dental school and does beautiful work.
I love my dentist. He is in Bartonville Town Square off of 407 across from Lantana which shouldn't be too far for you. His name is Robert Marye, DDS (last name is pronounced "Marie") and his number is: ###-###-####.
I wrote a very silly piece on my blog entitled, "Why H.'s Dentist is better than your dentist" awhile back and it is here if you want to take a peek:

My husband and three children (ages 3, 5 & 7) all go see him too.
My husband had some anxiety about dentists as well. We've been very happy with Brad Duren in Flower Mound/Lewisville. The staff is fantastic and gentile. Dr. Duren discusses any means of making your more comfortable....sedation, gas, novacaine, massage chair, headphones, parafin waxing on your hands while you get your teeth cleaned, etc.
He also has the ability to do lots of things in his office (mouth guards, etc.) to minimize the wait.
Good Luck!!

Dr. Susan Randall in Argyle on 377 is the best Dentist ever. Her entire staff is wonderful. Everyone that has ever gone to her loves her and her staff immediately. She will be very patient with you...she has lots of scardy cats. She also won't try to get you to do unnecessary work. ###-###-####
Dr. Matthew Harden in Highland Village ###-###-####
He is really great!
I just finished Dental Assisting School and going to the dentist is scary for a lot of people. It's tough because you are lying back in a chair, which can make you very vulnerable and in turn makes you scared. I have had my go around with dental work and no matter how much I have done it doesn't make it any easier. I have a dentist that I have been using now for awhile and I would never go anywhere else. He is in Highland Village on 407. His name is Dr. Matthew Harden, and he is the best. He has done amazing work on my teeth and he has the most friendly assistants I have ever met. I know its tough and scary but he makes you feel so comfortable and all his staff is awesome!! Hope this helps and if you have other questions about dentists don't hesitate to ask!
We love ours: Dr. Eric Hibbs, Park Cities Dental, near the corner of Lovers and the Tollway in Dallas. 214-den-tist.
We love our dentist Dr. William Wyatt in Flower Mound at 2499 and 1171. I take my kids to see him and they actually love going to the dentist. I'm taking my 6 year old there today to get her cavities filled. His motto is Truly gentle, exceptional dentistry. Here's his information:

He takes some insurance as well.
Been there, been there, been there...James Tuggle, DDS, ###-###-####. He is in Dallas, but he uses hypnosis to treat patients who are afraid. Mind you he uses regular anesthetic to deaden the area he is working on as any other dentist, but the first few times I went to him he did not look in my mouth, he just got me where I was comfortable with going under and could go under quickly. If you are afraid of what will be said or done while you are under, I could tell you every conversation in the entire office when he brought me out. In addition to being able to tolerate the exam and treatment, he used post hypnotic suggestion to calm me about making appointments and just driving there. I live in Denton and would find myself more and more relaxed as I drove to his office. If I had to wait very long in the waiting room, I was so relaxed that I would doze off. And, as I headed home, I would feel almost euphoric...well rested, content, happy. I used to be so bad that as soon as I made an appointment, I would spend the next days leading up to the appointment nauseated, agitated and overwhelmed with fear. Usually I cancelled the appointment and would end up not going until it was an emergency. The best part of all...I now go to a dentist here in Denton. The first time I made an appointment, I waited for the normal reaction. It never came! I never even thought about the appointment until it was time to go. As I walked over to the office, I felt calm and relaxed. Probably the most amazing thing is that my fanny was actually on the seat of the chair throughout the cleaning and exam!!! Good Luck!!! I know the terror well and my prayers will be with you.
I also live in Denton and recommend Dr. Unsil Keiser on Swisher/Teasley (diagonal from the South Branch Library). It is an all female office and we love them. My husband, 3 children (ages 10, 7, 7) and I all go there. Good luck!
The BEST one EVER is Dr. Townsley in Watagua (you could take 377 all the way down, it would be 25 minutes or so from Denton). He's the ONLY dentist I know of that cleans his own teeth and is SUPER gentle. The most gentle dentist I have been to. He's filled fillings for me with NO novocain/pain meds (although he would have used them, I requested he try it without first) and I felt NOTHING. He's awesome and I won't go to anyone else. His number is: ###-###-#### and like I said he's located on 377. Oh, he does do children and I believe he has special certifications for pediatric dentistry - I think I saw them hanging but don't quote me on that for sure but I know he does children for sure.
Wanted to add that Dr. Townsley won't do any procedure unless REALLY necessary. Every other dentist I've been to has told me I need this or that and Dr. Townsley is like "well only if you want "perfect" teeth, there's no real reason for any of that". I've been going to him for 15 years.
