Hello,
We are going to Tennesse for Spring Break to visit a friend. On our way home we are going to stop by Graceland for the basic, you don't have a lot of time tour, and lunch somewhere nearby. I don't have a lot of time to spend in Memphis, but was planning to eat something that is uniqely Memphis while there. Does anyone have any recommendations? It will be me and my 3 kids, so it will need to be kid friendly, and close to Graceland.

What can I do next?

There really isn't that much CLOSE to Graceland, but Graceland has a diner which offers some of Elvis' favorites. And, it is kid friendly.

Any place in downtown is fine to eat - they have Hard Rock Cafe, etc. Rendevouz is a famous bbq place downtown.

Good luck,
L.

As I recall, there is a fun restaurant basically on the premises. Graceland is actually in a pretty sketchy part of town, so we didn't want to be out anywhere near there! We ate at Graceland, and remember it being good! Have fun!

If you want true Memphis BBQ, I cannot recommend Tops enough. It is a chain, looks like a dive in most places, is reasonable and is amazing. Every time we go to Memphis we must bring Tops home. There are places more famous, but this is the best BBQ for us. Have fun!!!

Look for a BBQ place on Beale Streat. Ask the people at Graceland for a recomendation. There is a great museam, if you like that sort of thing, on Mud island.

Any BBQ place on Beale will be good Memphis food. Depending on what day and time you go, you might be in for a wait. Graceland does have a restaurant where they serve peanut butter and banana sandwiches along with some other stuff. If it turns out you don't have a lot of time and just want to get out of Memphis, you can stop in West Memphis, AR just over the bridge. They have a bunch of traditional chain and fast food restaurants where you can get something quick.
