Hi Lenc,
Sue's right about the Advil....Angie's right about the gout....Gout is a nutritional issue where the uric acid will build up at the lowest point in your body...basically your ankles. If our body absorbs it's nutrients properly, you can eat these things that Angie said were triggers but you can't eat anything like this in abundance...(Gout used to be a rich man's disease...) What's happening is your body is leaching things and depositing them elsewhere...mainly your bloodstream. For instance, a kidney stone that are basically calcium is not an overabundance of calcium but a misabsorption of it.
Get on a absorbable multivitamin/mineral complex and drink lots of good water. Cut back on the red meat for now. Take what the rheumatolgist says with a grain of salt. Their training is specific and is NOT nutritionally oriented. Get several opinions as well.
Eating yogurt and taking cherry extract are two of the most common (and helpful according to people I have suggested it to) alternative helps....
God bless,
M.
