Hi Moms,
My son's last day at his daycare is 12/31 (he'll be starting preschool in January). He's been at this home daycare since he was 4 months old. His current provider has been wonderful and we feel lucky to have found such a great place for him to be all these years. However, he is now 4 and it's time to move on to "big boy school." My question to you Moms is ... do I get his current provider a "goodbye" gift? I don't really know what the protocol is for something like this. We do get her a Christmas gift and this year I was going to spend a little more than I usually do since my son is leaving. Is that reasonable or should we be getting her another gift on top of her Christmas present? Thanks for the advice! I appreciate it.

I think one combined gift is just fine with a heartfelt thank you!!

I would spend a little more and then write a heart-felt thank you note. I would bet that will go a lot further than the gift itself.

You may want to consider buying a nice book, which is always a great gift option for teachers. Look for one with an open front jacket with plenty of room to sign, and then let your son leave his mark. This way she will always think of him when she takes it down for a read.
