I have a 5 yrd and a 8 yrd boys need to take swimming classes to improve their swimming skills. They already knew very basic swimming skills and can be in a pool without floating devices. Eventually, they need to be in a swimming team. I would appreciate it if anyone could give me some suggestions.

Thanks

Y.

We also take classes at Kids' First Swim School. We love it.

Hello Y.,
We live in Howard County too. When my 2 boys were young like yours they also knew how to swim a bit too. But I wanted to be secure with leaving them around water. The Howard County YMCA offers Inexpensive Swimming lessons for all ages. They have different levels too. From beginners to pros. They will test your boys and put them in the appreciate class for their experience level. The YMCA is located off of St. Johns Lane in Elliott City.

Patrick and I really enjoy the swimming instruction offered at Kids' First Swim School - there's a location in Columbia/Jessup area, at the intersection of Rt. 175 and Rt. 1. Here's the link:

I agree, my boys love KIDS FIRST SWIM SCHOOL, my 6 year old is now doing all of the strokes as well as diving and my 3 year old can now swim on his own.

GOOD LUCK!!!!

The Columbia Association does swim lessons at the indoor pool in Wilde Lake (I think the Columbia Gym too and the Supreme Sports Club but not sure). My son did them since he was 2 1/5. He now swims with the Columbia Neighborhood swim leagues and loves it. It gives him a workout with practice every day (only during the summer though). Just go to www.columbiaassociation.com and they have all the info about the regular swim lessons and about the swim team as well.
