Good Sports Bra?

I finally found a sports bra after trying atleast 10 different ones/brands and I fell in love with Jockey's sports bra. The most comfortable and by far most supportive one I tried. I believe you can order them online too. Good luck

Title Nine in Palo Alto has got just about every style of sports bra imaginable.... but I don't think they go past D cups. I think you can find them online. Good luck

wow- you've gotten a lot of responses. this might be a repeat, but I was (?now postbreastfeeding) a 32DD, and I wore the Title Nine Frog bra then and postpartum. It works great. When I first get one (I own 4 now), it is almost hard to breath as it compresses a lot, but after a few runs, it is perfect.

I use the Champion underwire sports bra. It's affordable (since you are probably larger then you will be based on the age of your new little bundle) and works very well.

Once you are done with this one, I'd invest in a good Patagonia sports bra. They are expensive but will last forever!

I had a nursing sports bra that I bought at Motherhood Maternity. It was very comfortable and of course made nursing pretty easy. I am a pretty busty girl, and I don't think it was quite firm enough for jogging, but it did quite nicely for walking and just day-to-day life.

I don't know what size you are currently, but if you're suddenly a larger size than you can find in most stores, you may want to try Soma. They have some very comfortable and supportive sports bras, and the staff there is super helpful (at least they are at my local store) - they will measure you so you know for sure what your current size is. I thought I was a 40C for the longest time, and then found out that I'm actually a 36DD. Amazing how helpful it is to wear the right size! =)

Hey A., I like my under armour one. It was kinda expensive but worth it. It has split cups for support of larger breasts(nursing) and While I was full and nursing I wore a bra underneath it. Felt like I duct taped them down:) You can go to underarmour.com. Good Luck

I used the Enell sports bra and LOVED IT. I had tried so many and none were enough support. You can find it at See Jane Run. They have a retail location, as well as an online store. I have to warn you, however, I was HUGE when I was using it. (34g) I am now a little smaller, but am still able to use it, amazingly. If this one is too overkill for you, See Jane Run has a great selection.

I would suggest going to REI in Saratoga. They have a fantastic staff, who are very knowledgeable about their products. They will take very good care of you! I have never been dis-satisfied there, and that's kept me coming back! I'm a hiker, and camper, and and have 4 boys. So REI has become a great addition to the family!!!

Hi, I found wearing two bras works best for me. I'm a 38DD and I do a cardio kickboxing class. The first I put on is a full coverage med. impact bra the second is a high impact bra that is a 36D. I was told by some of the ladies at class to buy it one size smaller, it all depends how much pressure you can handle. I don't like my chest to bounce at all because it is painful for me. After class I take the top bra off. Both bras are made by Danskin, sold at Walmart.

I actually found one at Target that I really liked, and actually still use although I've stopped nursing. Good luck!

I like the Nike ones the best, they cost more, but
they hold things in and close to you better. So, yeah,
they give the best support. Just be sure to try on first
for size, nike can run small sometimes, and go to a sporting goods store for the best selection. Most dept.
stores only carry 1=2 these days.

The best one I have found so far is the Victoria secret VSX. It has good support and you can still wear it under things without feeling like you're wearing a turtleneck :) It scoops low in the front so it's easy to pull down. Hope this helps! :)

target has a brand called champion and their sports bra are awsome! They are comfy, cute, and best of all affordable! I go to the gym constantly and that bra feels best when on the treadmill.

I can definitely recommend Glamorise, available through Title Nine athletic wear on line. I am rather well endowed myself, and these work very well.

I am still searching for a nursing bra with the proper support. So far the best I have found is a nursing tank top at Target.

I wear two sport bras together for support.

I got my sports bra at Napa Running Company. The brand is "Moving Comfort" (woman-owned) and I believe the style is "Fiona". You will know it because it has adjustable straps that come through the front of the bra and attach with velcro - therefore they are very adjustable. This is the bra I wore for running before and while I was pregnant. Toward the end of my pregnancy I got a larger size with the idea in mind that I would use it for nursing after baby was born. I ended up getting a second one after baby was born because it was so much more comfortable than a "regular" nursing bra. I even slept in it!! Now that I'm back to running - slowly but surely and several months later - I just tighten the straps a bit to keep the girls in place. Like someone else mentioned, just be sure to loosen the straps after your workout so you don't keep your breasts compressed for an extended period of time. And of course, I don't know your level of fitness, but do be kind to yourself and don't rush back into anything too strenuous straight away - you wouldn't want to have any kind of a setback. That said, I went for 1+ hour walks starting at about two weeks postpartum - pushing the stroller - and for me that was a good transition to lead up to jogging/running when I was ready to return. Oh, and yes, the bra is about $40 or $50, but it is well worth it as you can use it for more than just nursing, in my opinion.

You might want to try wearing two or even three bras.

I wear a 34G bra, and found a great, supportive jogging bra at Fleet Fleet in Roseville. I think the brand is Enell. They can help you. They said it was the most supportive one made today, and I love it. It cost about $55, and is well worth it. It's not a nursing bra, but it's VERY supportive.

I just bought a great sports bra from a local running store, or I think you can purchase them online, the brand is Moving Comfort and the style I got is the Fiona- it has velcro on the straps to adjust easily and a wide band and hold my nursing size D breast really well- I run and jump in stroller strides with out any pain. It is not a nursing bra, but you can lift up the bra easily and nurse or undo the velcro-

I don't know of a good bra, but i would ask someone from a running store like "fleet Feet" about the sports bra.

Also, i'd take it easy running, unless you've been doing lots of it already.. i heard if you're still nursing you have that hormone running through your body (relaxin) that makes you muscles and ligaments more stretchy. this means you could dislocate or pull something much easier. Even if you're not nursing, your baby's only a month old- so that means you're still recovering from her birth.

I used a sports bra by a brand called Natori. It has some underwire, wider straps and 3 hooks in the back. While it's not tiny and cute - it gives awesome support (which you need especially while nursing)! A sales person at Nordstom hipped me to them when I was nursing my son and thinking about getting back into working out.
I still use the same style/brand today (3 years later and at least a couple cups smaller).

I love Title Nine bras. Thay make one with a lot of Lycra in it, can't remember the name though, sorry.

I am a runner and had to find a good supportive sports bra that I could nurse in and found THE BEST bra ever! It's not techincally a nursing sports bra BUT the straps are adjustable by velcro and they adjust from the front. And the velcro is soft and comfortable... not scratchy. I reccommend it to everyone and so far they have all loved it too. One mom friend of mine was having mastisis issues because she would pull her regular sports bra up to nurse and it compressed her breast and caused a couple really bad infections.

Anyways.. it's made by Moving Comfort. Fleet Feet carries it and so does www.titlenine.com (Title Nine has a stores in Berkeley, Palo Alto, Walnut Creek & Mill Valley) It's called the Fiona Bra (I think that's what Moving Comfort calls it) and Title Nine calls it "3-reasons support bra" and the item number for it through Title Nine is #310184. It comes in sizes 30-40 C-DD

i found that wearing two of my sports bras together really worked. any of them individually just didn't cut it.

I found the best solution is two sports bras. I am a runner and went out and bought an expensive "5 bra-bells" from Title 9 when I went from an A-cup to a D-cup with my first son. I didn't like it because it didn't feel as supportive as I wanted and ended up just buying a bunch of tight sports bras from Target. I like NOTHING moving while I run, since I'm pretty much used to that normally, so that's my best solution. Title 9 has bras for everybody, so if you want to get just one bra, go there. I find the Frog bra works pretty well. Otherwise, just a tight (so tight you almost can't breathe at first) bra and a second, looser bra on top work for me. Good luck!

congrats on being a new mommy! and good for you for nursing your little one. just wanted to share that when i used a nursing bra early on when nursing my son, that compressing your breasts in a sport bra-like tight "hold-em in" bra can often lead to mastitus or plugged ducts....i had both often and didn't realize that my bra was helping lead to my problems. just be cautious and take the bra off right away after exercising and massage your breats/take a hot shower...that helps!

Go to Fleet Feet - there is one at the corner of Fair Oaks and Madison - they have the most awesome, exactly what you need, it even opens up so you can nurse but it costs $50 sports bra. I am telling you, I did not believe a sports bra existed that could properly support me so that I could run. I was wrong. This one is the one. However! Don't leave it on other than when you run - it could restrict your milk supply. I never had a problem, I just workout and get changed right away anyhow but just want to mention it. Happy trails!
