Good Smelling Perfume (Not Too Strong)

I like the Clean scents. I get them at Sephora. Actually there is a gift pack right now with all 4 scents (1 oz each) for $65 at Sephora.

You smell clean, right from the shower. I love them.

I like Dazzling silver by esteda lauder. Or Clinque's HAPPY. Bath and body works has good body sprays too for not as much as a perfume. Stay away from white diamonds as that is REALLY STRONG

My husbands favorite is the Vanilla perfume from Victoria Secrets or Bath and Body Works...that is what he likes me to wear. I also have a Coconut perfume from there that he likes.

Most perfumes give me a headache so I've ended up wearing these auromatherapy body mist blends by Aura Cacia. I pick them up at my local Whole Foods Market for less than $8 each and they come in Lavendar, Jasmine, Vanilla and Tangerine/Grapefruit. Sometimes I'll layer two or three of them to create a different sent. This works for me and my allergies.

I like a light body spray, like a Calgon or a Bath & Body Works Fragrance. It leaves my skin fresh and smelling nice enough when someone gets close to me, but is not strong and overpowering, so I don't have to worry about making people get headaches or sneeze. I also like to spend money on something more essential than some body scent and $60 for a bottle that will be gone in a month or 2 seems ridiculous. At the same time, I don't much care for strong smelling perfumes because it makes people think you had to drown in perfume because you didn't shower and you smell! The Bath & Body Works body sprays I like are the Moonlight Path and the Wild Honeysuckle. The smell is feminine yet subtle. I also sometimes wear Nina Ricci scented body lotion or Roberto Cavalli, as they not only moisturize but leave a nice, soft scent on your skin. A few dabs around the chest and neck do a great job.

Kiss by Kiss. Yes Kiss the band. I LOVE THIS PERFUME. You used to be able to get it at walmart, but not anymore. SAD DAY! I'm not sure where you can get it now other than online. But it's so wonderful. I get so many compliments all the time when I wear it. It's light and very refreshing.
Can you try pharamones? Love it too. It works with your natural sent.

I wear any of the lotions from Bath and Body Works instead of perfume. It makes it a little lighter. A flowery one I like is called Sweet Pea. I also like Vanilla Noir or Coconut Vanilla and usually get a lot of compliments when I wear those.

Burberry London smells great and is not over powering.

You know, the thing to remember about perfume is that every perfume smells differently on different people. For example, I love the smell of Drakkar (for men) so I bought a bottle of it for my husband. Well, oh my gosh, it smelled terrible on him! It smelled divine on my teenage boyfriend years ago but didn't smell good at all on my husband. Perfume triggers migraines for me so I have to be very careful with the strong smelling perfumes. You might have better luck with body sprays. I use them all the time, even scented body lotions can smell very nice but not as overpowering as a perfume/cologne. I really love Jasmine Vanilla Body Mist from Bath and Body Works.

I wear Bond #9 (I wear Bleeker Street but I also like the samples I have for the New Haarlem and Central Park scents) available at Lord and Taylor. They are all very different but none is overly flowery or perfumey.

I also like L'Occitane Green Tea and Jasmine.

FInally, I wear Burt's Bees Products and they have very light natural earthy scents, maybe they have something (not sure)?

I like the Clinique scents.
A lot of perfumes make me sneeze and these don't plus they smell nice.
I also like body sprays - my fav being anything with verbena in it.

I am not a big big perfume person. When the weather is cold, I like to wear something a little spicy (I LOVE Burberry and used to love Red years ago).. but when the weather is a little warmer I cannot wear something that heavy, and I am not really much of a flowery scent person either. I like the clean light scents... and my favorite is Green Tea. It is an Elizabeth Arden fragrance my hubby gave me several years ago. And I just love love love it.

My favorite perfume is Sung by Alfred Sung. My husband of 20 years HATES perfume but he likes this scent.

Givenchy- Ange on Demon le Secret is AWESOME! Perfect because its light and not overpowering at all!

I absolutely adore "Lovely" by Sarah Jessica Parker. It is a soft clean floral scent.

I am allergic to most fragrances, but the one I have found that I can wear that I absolutely love is Heavenly from Victoria's Secret. I use the sparkly body spray :)

I'm glad others mentioned it too. In addition to yourself, many have allergies and develop headaches or other ailments from the perfume or cologne of those around them. The fumes are just overwhelming! Not to mention all the chemicals in them. Go to whole foods and check out some different essential oils. Sandalwood is great and there are others that you can even mix up to make nice smells without polluting the air and your lungs.
Sweet you want to smell nicely for your husband but chances are he's loving you just because you're so thoughtful.

Prescriptives Calyx is very clean. Love this fragrence. Most give me terrible headaches, but this is wonderful. I get tons of compliments on it. I just read that they were thinking of discontinuing it, but are saying they will not & you can continue to purchase at fine dept stores.

fragrance is such a personal thing. I just gave away 2 bottles of perfume (one of the very large & expensive that my husband bought for me)- because my sense of smell has changed &/or my body chemistry post baby. I like Clinique Happy- they a couple of other varieties one is more floral & light. Tommy Bahama- they also have 2 other varieties- light & summery esp. for FL. IF you go to Sephora,Nordstrom, other high end department store, they can get you samples try before purchasing.

I always use the samples in the catalogs. You never know when you may stumble upon a fragrance that you like. :)

I love Burberry Brit. It is so yummy and not too strong at all. I just give a little spray to the small of my back under my shirt and it is perfect. It isn't very expensive, you can get it at a department store or even at Wal-mart and Target during the Christmas season. Have a good time celebrating your man's bday :D

World Market has some yummy floral scents. I also like going to Aveda where they help you select a fragrance they mix for you. You basically compare smells and through their process you narrow down to the one your nose likes best.
I also really like Philosophy's Amazing Grace, but you have to layer it. it is light.

Also try toilet water (Eau de Toilette) in the scent you like it is not as concentrated as the actual perfume. Layering with the matching lotions will help it last longer...

Jessica McClintock is floral like.. smells clean and fresh and even if just wearing Mcclintock lotion, that smells good too..

also, Diorissimo by Christian Dior ...

I really like Sunflowers. It's not overpowering and also not overpriced--about $20 for a large bottle.

If you are planning something 'special' for hubby's birthday, I wonder if you could work in a trip to the perfume counter and let him pick one that turns him on?

Chanel #5, clean, classic, smart, one of very few perfume houses still using actual natural ingredients. Expensive but a teeny tiny dab'll do it.
