Good Sleeping Gone Bad

Hi. I am hoping to get advice on getting my 9 month old to sleep throught the night again. Not sure what went wrong, but from 5-7ms, she slept perfectly through the night from 8pm - 6am. All of a sudden, around 7ms, she started waking again at some time between 1-3am wanting a bottle. We have a nice bedtime routine, after which I give her a bottle before bed at 8pm. She falls asleep immediately after, but wakes up screaming until I give her a bottle. I have read that maybe I should not be giving her a bottle before bed, because it associates sleeping with eating. Has anyone heard this or tried it? I feel like she needs that extra bit of food to make it though the night, but maybe I'm wrong. Any suggestions or things you've tried would be helpful. I'm tired!

What can I do next?

I never heard that you aren't supposed to give them a bottle before bed... new one on me. But here's what you can do: make your bottle as usual but add some rice cereal to the bottle. it makes it thicker and stays with them longer. I had to do this with my son at about 3 months because no matter what he would not sleep throught the night otherwise. I am VERY against pacifiers but if you aren't then you might try that in the middle of the night instead of the bottle, but be careful that she doesn't become too attached to a specific style or brand because if they stop making them you may have trouble. Best of wishes and may the sandman grant you both a good night sleep.

I'd try to feed her some cereal about an hour before bed and skip on the bottle. (I, too, have never heard that you shouldn't.) And with the waking... sorry to say it, but I would let her cry it out. She's at the age where she fully understands cause and effect. If she cries, she knows you'll come in there, pick her up and give her what she wants. At nine months, she shouldn't need to eat in the middle of the night. I would try this before trying the pacifier. If she's never had one it might not be a good idea to try it now. It would make one more thing she becomes dependant on for sleep. If she already takes one, that's what I'd give her. I would not feed her in the middle of the night anymore.

Best of luck to you!!!

I've heard that. What I did with my lil boy before I put him to bed was give him a snack so that way he'd have food in his tummy until morning. I've also heard u don't want to put your baby to bed with a bottle because they can get something called bottle decay because milk has sugar in it so if u give them a bottle while they are in their crib the sugar settles on their teeth.
