Good Salon in Evanston?

I go to Lindsey at Art and Science. She is young, but I felt like she listened to what I wanted and didn't just do what she thought was best. It is a bit pricy, but you'll expect that at a good salon I guess. Good luck! J.

I highly recommend George Salon at 808 Davis Street in Evanston ###-###-####. I've been going to the owner, George Flanary for years now, and his rate for haircuts for new clients is quite high ($75 maybe? he cuts me a deal because I'm a long-time client)...if that's too much for you, ask for Amalia who is also great...that said, George does AMAZING highlights (and that's the same charge no matter the stylist)...in fact, I've had people stop me on the street to say "cute cut" or "beautiful color!" Olga does beautiful waxing & nails too!

Elizabeth Arden in Evanston. New location, beautiful salon. Ask for Mark McWillaims for a partial highlight. He is there on Sundays. Also there is a hispanic colorist, not sure of his name but he is a pleaser.

Amy G Salon on Central Street, very friendly, very professional, and very hip! I am learning to take care of myself after having 4 kids, and they are wonderful. Amy is the owner and is in training with Vidal Sassoon, though has been in the business for 15 yrs. if I remember right. I go to Rebecca! They are fabulous. You can set up the appointment online if you want to, and they have a 20% off coupon for your first visit.
Check them out.

I've been seeing Yuki at Salon Texture on Davis and she does a fantastic job. She was voted "Best Stylist in the City" or something like that by Today's Chicago Woman (I think). Anyway, she worked on Oak St. for years and opened her own salon here in Evanston. She's a character but nice and very talented. She has great recommendations and really seems to know what kind of cut/color would look best with your particular hair/face shape/etc... I thought she's be really expensive given her credentials, but she's not! She gives you a discount on your first visit cut - I think it's $38 - and has reasonable prices on other services, too. I was pleasantly surprised. Good luck!

Margaret K at Salon Ergo on Orrington. ###-###-####. She's just back from a month long vacation so you might need to wait a smidge to get in which is unusual. She's done lots of things for me and even my daughter and I wouldn't trust anyone else. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the way she cuts my hair. Even on a bad day it looks good and it grows out really well too. Her color work is excellent as well. She knows her stuff, I trust her completely.
