Can anybody recommend a good salon or stylist that is not too expensive. I am considering spending quite a bit but I really would rather not if I can avoid it.I had my hair cut almost a month ago (the day before my birthday) and the stlist really screwed it up. It has grown out a little but it does not have any shape. I have hard to cut hair it is super thick, coarse, and a little wavy. I am in Macomb twp but will travel a little for somebody that does a good job.
Thanks in advance for any replies.

Martha at Aqua in Royal Oak is resonably priced and she does a great job. There is even a coupon for 1st time customers on the Salons web page.
Hi D.,
I also live in Macomb Twp. There is a fantastic salon at 23 and Schoehnerr (sp??) called Imago Salon and Spa. You can look at their prices and services at www.imagosalonandspa.com I would recommend Laura Richardson (one of the owners), she is FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you go to their web-site, sign up for their emails and they will send you their daily specials that you can only get "that" day. Let me know if you go and how it turns out!
Good Luck,
J. in Macomb
Just went to their web-site and it was hard to find the area where you sign up for emails... But you need to email ____@____.com and ask to be added to their email list.
Hi D.,
I'm not sure what you're considering too expensive, but I so love my stylist.... he's worth every penny. I go to Andrew Marke at 21 & Card, not too far from you. I know many of the stylists there are really good, but if you want to try my guy~ his name is Scott Jenner. He is worth his weight in gold!
Oh, and he charges about $45-$50 for a shampoo, cut and fantastic style.
Good luck to you!

Creative Cuts on Gratiot in Chesterfield is a good salon. The owner Beth does my hair and she is really good at what she does. They are on Gratiot south of 21mile next to Leongs. I hope you find what you are looking for!
The Worxx Shop salon in Clinton Township is great.. Kelly is the owner/stylist and she has an incredible background, but yet only charges $15 for a cut.

I love Aria Salon at 25 Mile and Mound in Shelby. I see Redy- she is great with my super thick and super short hair. It is an Aveda Salon which is great because their products are nice. The prices are reasonable- about $35 for a hair cut. ###-###-####
Hi D.,
I have been going to April since 1983 and have had many different styles and colors. Everyone I have sent to her loves her. She will take the time to listen to what you would like and also she will give you her expert opinion of what your hair will or will not do.
She works out of a beautiful salon in her home at 18 and Hayes. I think it is much more relaxing than when she was working at a salon. Her pricing is great. You won't have to pay $100 for a cut, color and style like most places.
Her number is ###-###-####.
Best of luck!
I have always been happy with everyone at Studio 2 at 16 Mile and Garfield! Good luck!
Hi D., I go to Mark Douglas at the corner of 24 and shelby and see James...I found out about this place from a friend who's hair is always beautiful and i've been going to him ever since for many years and i always get complements on my hair...his hair cuts are around 30.00 i think, i usually cut color and highlights along with a cut so i spend about 110.00...but good luck, its very hard to find someone you are happy with.
Good Morning D., my name is K..
I have 'The Best' hair stylist....I have followed both of these energetic women for the past 8-10 years. You would want to ask for Lisa or Kristen. They both work at the Abby Brooks Salon on Hayes at 23 Mile - the phone is ###-###-####.
Tell them that K. T says 'Hi' Enjoy..........
Try the Paul Mitchell School on 18 and VanDyke. I know it sounds crazy but I have been going there for about 6 months (diff girl every time just because I want to get in last min.) but have been totally satisfied! A haircut is $12 and color or highlights is pretty cheep. Yes it's students but they are up to date on all the latest techniques and styles. Plus they wouldn't be allowed to cut public if they weren't capable. I used to spend $125+ on a visit with cut, color & highlights. I thought I would give them a shot and LOVE it!!!

I want to go back to Megan C. in the night class but I think she graduates this month...
Hi D., I have naturally curly hair and it is thick as well. My stylist works from her home and is reasonable. Her name is Terri Pearson, she attends my church, lives in Warren(13& schoenherr area). Her number is ###-###-####. She knows you may be calling. Hope this helps. I've been seeing her for 6-7 years. L. S.
I have a fantastic stylist in Clinton Township. Her name is Melinda and she works (and owns) Octavia Hair Salon at Groesbeck and Metro Parkway. The address is 37245 Groesbeck
Clinton Twp., MI 48038 and the phone number is ###-###-####. She does have a pretty busy schedule but EVERYONE at the salon is very good so you could go to anyone.
Shapes Salon on Gratiot just south of 21 Mile is really great. Heidi is the owner and I've also gone to Kim and really like her. The cost is $30 for cut, and when I got semi-perm color it was $36. http://www.shapes-salon.com/
It is called New Beginnings Salon on Van Dyke near 23 Mile Road. The stylist is Marlene Fitzpatrick. I have thick curly hair and she does an awesome job. Most of her clientele has curly hair. I know a couple of other people that go to her and they love her as well. Her haircuts are around $35 with a blowdry.
