Try Schreiber Methodist Preschool - it's in the St Rita Catholic area of Dallas - Tollroad & LBJ. ###-###-####
I am looking for a different preschool in North Dallas for my daughter. She currently goes to one that is ok...they do fun things there but I don't think she is challenged enough. They have a curriculum, but it is pretty loose. I am looking for more of a preschool that will teach her more than what she's learning now. Of course, I want a loving environment, too, and a place where she can play on a playground and do other fun things. I am just looking for a couple days per week, 9-2 type schedule for no more than $230 per month(which is what I currently pay). A church setting would be nice. I would love to send her to a Catholic church since we are Catholic, but I am open to other churches or schools if they are good. Does anyone have any recommendations for a school they really love in the Dallas/North Dallas/Richardson area?
Thanks!

Not sure where you live exactly...North Dallas is a big area. But here are 3 that are North.
1) University Park United Methodist Weekday School on Preston and Caruth in the Park Cities.
2) Northpark Presbyterian Preschool behind Northpark
3) Park Cities Baptist Church on Northwest Highway by Preston Center.
All are excellent...but they can be tough to get into. I used to teach at UPUMC Weekday School...amazing veteran teachers...some have been there over 20+ years.
Our Redeemer Lutheran School, at the corner of Park and Boedecker, has a really good program.
Park Cities Baptist Church on Northwest Highway near Preston Road has a good program.
I believe Lover's Lane Methodist Church on Northwest Highway at Inwood has a good program.
There is a Montessori school at St. Christopher's off Central....I see the sign occasionally but don't know about the program.
Good luck!
I was the founding Director for Bent Tree Episcopal School in Far North Dallas. I stayed the first 7 years, and have been gone for more than 3 so I don't have a stake in advising you to look into it... The setting is absolutely beautiful, the program is designed around an age-appropriate curriculum. They are accredited by the NAEYC. The staff is about as loving as you will ever find. They are part time: 9-2 for 2 or 3 days a week. Whether you choose it or not, good luck in your search. These early days are so important! Don't forget most of your child's education takes place at home. :)

We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Carpe Diem: www.carpediempreschool.com - Renner/Alma.
You won't be at any $230/month though...
Heights Baptist Church in Richardson (Off of 190 and Renner) has a great program for kids.
Try www.savvysource.com. There's lots of information there on preschools in the North Dallas and Richardson area.
Hi N.,
I highly recommend Teddy Bear Junction. They are listed here on Mammasource and have all excellent reviews. They are in Plano at Independence & Spring Creek and are through the Reformed Church of Plano. Good Luck!

The Heights Baptist Church has a good one (Renner/75) so does Arapaho Road Baptist Church (North Garland/190)
Good luck!
I know a great preschool in Garland. I worked their for 11 years. It is New World United Methodist Church. They have a excellent preschool and kindergarten program. The director is Gloria Rust. ###-###-####. They have a 2 day, 3 day and 5 day from 9-12 or 9-2. I am not sure of the cost these day.

We LOVE the MDO program at Canyon Creek Baptist Church in Richardson on Custer. It is 2 days a week 9-2, but they are thinking about adding a third day in the fall.

N., I am not sure exactly where you live, but I live in the Richardson school district. We feed into Lake Highlands High School. A lot of our kids go to Northpark Presbyterian preschool, Lake Highlands United Methodist - CCDC preschool, Montessori Children's House and School, and Unity Day School for preschool. These are all great, and I know kids (or mine have attended)who have been to all of these preschools. They all are not childcare, they are schools where learning takes place, and there are playgrounds where the kids get to run around. If they are close enough to you, you might want to check them out.
