Good Neighborhood with Good Schools in SE Orlando?

Asked this yesterday, but I don't see it, so I hope this isn't going to be a repost--I have a very good chance at a great job opp at UCF's med school SE of the Orlando airport, and I'm thinking about where to start the house hunt if I get the offer. I have a 2nd grader and a preschooler, and the 2nd grader is NOT motivated at our current public school. He's a great kid, very smart, tests way above grade level, and doesn't understand why he should do boring school work. I need a really fantastic school, and if there's a good public system somewhere relatively close to the airport, that would be GREAT. If not, a private, preferably non-religious school would be an option, especially if they have a preschool too. Any suggestions where I should start my search? We don't have a big budget, but we'd like a neighborhood with good activities (parks, pools) at least very nearby, and of course near that great school! Many thanks for any help you can give.

So What Happened?

Got the job! The problem is, it doesn't pay quite what we'd hoped--close, but not quite. It looks like we won't be able to afford a house near Moss Park Elementary, although that's our favorite location. Is there anything else with a really good school but more affordable housing? We're really getting stressed out about this.

Moss Park Elementary is a grade A public school and down the street Ladybird Academy for the preschooler. My children (3 & 5) attend both schools and they love it.

Also there are plenty of subdivisions around, Moss Park is actually located inside a community with different subdivisons, the name escapes me at the moment.

Hope this helps! Welcome to the area

I was going to recommend the same area as Mamy Of 2. My chiropractor lives and works in that area and it is very nice. I don't know about the schools since I do not live in that area.

I would say Lake Nona area. We have friends that live there and love it! It's very near the UCF medical school and the airport.

If you want to research Orange County public schools, go to their website. In Florida, our schools are graded A-D.

I am near Avalon Park and it has also good schools, very nice town too with parks and pool.
We are about 30 minutes or less from UCF and 40 or less from airport.
