With cold season right around the corner, I was wondering if anyone knows of a really good natural vitamin or ways to boost my baby's immune system so she does not get so many colds? She is 14 months old. I was using Tri-vi-sol, but it has carmel coloring in it.

What can I do next?

Organic vitamins and there is a liquid, organic vitamin C that can be added to water. Look at we-us.mychoices.biz and search for 'Twist Tubes' and children's vitamins. These vitamins are organic and the company grows, harvests and processes all the stuff itself. My Godson lived with us while his mom was deployed and he only got sick one day out of the 10 months he was with us (he went to preschool 3 days a week). The twist tubes are great for adults too. I do NOT get a flu shot anytime. I have taken these vitamins for 13 years and I and my husband do not get sick. Lots of Navy guys use them because of the energy they get and because there is a money back guarantee on these products if you don't like them. They will pay to ship them back too. A $75 order gets you free shipping also.

I give my son "Child Life- First Defense" daily and so far my 9 month old has only had a little sniffle here and there but I think it has been due to teething.

Yes, you can give her "probiotics." It often comes in yogurt, or yogurt drinks. There are many brands on the grocery shelves nowadays. The labels will say it's "probiotic" yogurt etc.

Like anything, do what you feel is best. And/or Check with your Pediatrician. And as always, give only "kid dosage" not adult proportions.

here is a link on it:

You can also give her "Omega-3's" supplements. There are many "child" versions specific for children. It can be found in any natural food store or on Amazon.com, for example.

Here is a link on that:

ALSO, what is important for the immune system is SLEEP. Meaning sufficient sleep. Naps and sleep is important for children. When my eldest child takes her regular naps, even at her age of nearly 6 years old, she gets sick a LOT less often, and if she does get sick it is just minor. And, she is also not as over-tired. Sleep is like a natural way for the body to heal and rejuvenate & repair itself... and fight against any weakness. Studies have also been done on insufficient sleep/prolonged sleep deprivation, and it's been found that this factor can markedly contribute to even diabetes, weight gain, depression and many other medical problems. So for children or adults... it's a naturally healthy component to sustain.

Take care,
Susan

Hello there K.. I agree with the twist tubes because it comes in a kiwi strawberry flavor that is sugar free but taste so delicious. My 4 year old loves them and I even put it in her strawberry flavored jello. There is also a product called brainiums that is either lemon or fruit punch flavored. Packed with omega's they are made for kide and comes in a chewable version minus the fishy flavor. I love them myself. I hope this helped, and you can always message me if you have any questions.

aloha,
S.
