I like Tracy's Family Haircuts. It is fast, walk-in, no-nonsense, and $5. BOth of my boys (ages 2 and 4) have had their haircut there. Tracy does a great job. She is on Western, a few blocks north of Irving Park.
We are getting family pictures done this week. :) My husband usually buzz cuts my oldest son since his hair stands up and is kind of difficult to "style" :) I have let it grow out since he needs more hair for winter. When we have gone to get it done "professionally" we go to Snippets on Clybourn; however, the outcome is never that great. Any ideas on where to go that will give him a better chance at a good haircut? Thanks! :)

It matters greatly who cuts his hair at snippets. Theresa is the only one there that I will let cut my kids hair- and she has always done a great job. Good luck
KE Salon on Montrose at Lincoln. They give a great kids cut at a great price. We went for a "family" haircut on Saturday and came out looking like a million bucks!
I took my son (now almost 18 mos) to Kidsnips in oakbrook early last month and was quite pleased. They knew when to give up the cut and had lot to distract him. The chair was a racecar - that seems to entice young boys. HTH
We take our boys to Snippets on Clybourn. I've tried Pigtails & Crewcuts in Glenview and the other kids place on clybourn between snippets and Chipotle (but definitely do NOT recommend that place). They're both toddlers, so now I only make appts on the weekend when my husband can come. We used to always ask for Lauren, but now go with whoever is available. My husband is much more picky/critical about these things than me, and he is very polite, but not at all shy about asking them to fix something that looks uneven, go a little shorter/not go so short and thinning out my older son's hair on top (it's super thick). They probably think he's a pain, but we're much more satisfied with their haircuts now. The true test of a haircut is how it grows out, and theirs have been growing out well enough that we take them every other month.
You could also try a good, old-fashioned barber...although I don't have one to recommend.
We like JRH Kids Cuts - it's at 2123 W. Irving Park Rd. The phone number is ###-###-####. I've always had good luck with Julie.
The new snippets just opened on southport. Maybe you'll have better luck there than at the one on clybourn
