We are in the market to purchase a new front end loader washing machine and dryer. There are so many out there to choose from. Anyone have one that they just love and would recommend. Or have you purchased one that has lots of issues? Thanks for any advice.

We just went through this last week! My old front load, a gibson, which I loved just decided to stop working. I had a repair man come out and after two days he finally told me to just go buy a new one...it arrives tomorrow! Anyway the repair man said not to buy an LG because although it is a great washer, unless you buy it at sears you will not find someone who can repair it if it does break and parts are hard to come by. My in-laws have a kenmore elite and love it and I just got a samsung at best buy. But know, what ever you choose if you are on the Denver water system you can down load a $150.00 rebateif the washer you buy is energy efficient!

Happy washing!

I have a whirlpool duet set.. the big ones and they have all the fancy dudads and I love them. Whitest Whites, Sanitize, Heavy Duty... 1200 RPM spin cycle, the clothes come out almost dry from the washer. We haven't had any trouble with them and they cut our loads of laundry in half. Unfortunately, its the same amount to fold and put away...

We have the LG Tron and it's been great! We got it four years ago and have been very pleased with it's performance. And especially it's capacity-when we got it I was averaging 16-20 loads of laundry a week, it took me down to 10 b/c it fit so much more!

I love my Kenmore HE4t washer and dryer. We have never had a single problem with it, and I do a LOT of laundry (about 50 loads a month). We've had it for at least 2 years now. I also like the sanitize mode, along with all of the other nifty things about it.

The Kenmore line has and does still produce good front-load washing machines. We are on our second one and like it a lot.

Love my Kenmore. It has a sanitary cycle that is great for vomit, urine and poop. Thankfully that cycle doesn't have to be used that often! :)

I just recently got an LG washer and absolutely love it. The guys at Sears and Home Depot said they would definitely go with LG. It has a direct motor drive which does not use any belts. They break down a lot less. I did a LOT of research and ended up with a 4.0 size LG. It cost about $750.00. No matter what you get...make sure it has a sanitary cycle. It uses extremely hot water and cleans really good. Shortly after we got our washer, a couple of months ago, our son got the stomach flu and I just threw all of the bedding each time into the washer on sanitary. With our other washer I would have to run the washer at least a couple of times.

HI S., a few months ago I bought my first front loading set and did some research and I ended up going with Samsung because their machines have VRT, vibration reduction technology, which means the machines don't rock, walk or jiggle around during the high spin cycles. This is a must if your laundry room is not on the ground floor otherwise during the spin cycles your machine will "walk" all over the laundry room and can damage your house. I have seen my washer be off balance with smaller loads and start to vibrate really bad and then it seemed like it just recentered itself and the shaking stopped! It was really cool! Anyway I love my machine and have not had any problems with it. Good luck on your search and have fun!

Just to offer an opposite position - I would have been much happier if I would have kept my non - high efficiency washer. I have a Samsung silver care and I like the silver feature, but because of the low amount of water used, my towels have ended up stinky because they don't get completely rinsed out (even though I don't use a lot of soap at all. I guess I will use less but I'm afraid it won't get them totally clean.)

GRRR it is unbelievably frustrating. I am in the middle of washing and rinsing a bunch right now and I have washed them 3 times with rinsing in between, trying to get the icky smell out, and then rinsed them no less than 11 times trying to get all the soap out. I could still see suds after the 10th rinse. So, if you get one of these, use very little soap, and make sure to clean the rubber gasket and the door often. I don't think this is necessarily a Samsung problem in particular - I have heard of others with HE washers having the same problems. I hope you like yours better!
