My son loves Raffi and I would love to be able to take my kids to a concert...but he's no longer doing them. Has anyone else taken their kids to a children's music concert? What was the name of the artis?

What can I do next?

We went the the Wiggles concert when my kids were 3 and 4, and they absolutely loved it. They went wild when the Wiggles came out on stage, and I remember thinking they were like the Baby Beatles! I was excited, too, from all of the energy in the stadium. I think it was the most fun concert I've ever been to, which might tell you something about my younger days...!

I have taken my children to music concerts since they were infants. My city has a lot of free concerts at parks and other public places. We have listened to Dixieland, blues, folk music, classical, comical, religious, country, oldies. I want them to have a wide variety of music experience so they can choose their own "thing" when they are older.
We pack a lunch or a snack, and off we go!
Check your paper or community calendar for concerts in your area. Have fun!!!

Hey D.,
Have you ever heard of Zac Morgan? He is from Cincy and returns here quite often to do shows. The kids LOVE him. He is a big goof ball and really gets all of the children involved in his program. I hope this helps.

The only childrens' concerts I am aware of are the Disney Music Block Party and the Wiggles. Both are soon here in Cols, Oh. The Disney one will have Imagination movers, Choo Choo Soul, and others. Wiggles is at Nationwide arena.

You can always look in Parent Magazine for local (free) concerts. In Gahanna, at Friendship park there are concerts on Friday evenings.

My boys (ages 3,3, and 5 mo) just love music in general, it doesn't even have to be "kids" music.

I havent taken my kids to a concert but we like to listen to Laurie Berkner, Trout Fishing in America plus many others. We have Sirius (satelitte radio) and we listen to Kids Stuff alot! There are tons of great music out there for kids and unfortunetly its not played on regular radio. Its also music that it tolerable for parents! If you have Dish they have Sirius channels too so you can check it out that way. You can also Google them and find the websites!

The Wiggles were great, but I don't know if they're still touring because Greg was ill.
Kids like the Doodlebops concerts, too.

Justin Roberts is really terrific, has parent-friendly kid music (won't grate on your nerves like some) and his concerts are usually really cheap or free (his tours stop at churches, libraries and community centers). He has a website- www.justinroberts.com I think.

My daughters love Ralph's World. He has great songs that are very tolerable for the adults.

Though we haven't been to one of his concerts, I believe he is going to be in Columbus this September. He is part of the Disney Concert series as he has signed on with Disney.

I think his website is www.ralphsworld.com and should give a listing of shows. He is based out of Chicago.

Good Luck.
K.

The wiggles are fantastic. They always have good messages, and they sound really well when they sing. Laurie Berkner is another good one. My kids always sing Mommy's got a pig on her head. Another one I like is Dan Zanes and Milkshake. Look them up on the Internet and you can get snippets of them from Jack's Big Music show on Noggin.com. They might be giants also just recently ventured into the kids genre and they do some cute stuff. For little ones I recommend the wiggles though. Some might the Doodlebops also, but My kids can't stand them!!

Sorry I am not actually resonding to your request--I was hoping that maybe some mom reading on here, responding to music requests might remember a tape from about early 1990's, some of the songs were classics but some I have not heard of. One was a mommy bird getting her baby birds to learn to fly and there were motions that you could do with the kids, another was about differetn people/animals who have only one shoe since they keep losing them. That is all we can remember except that they loved it--my middle daughter wants to find it for her class of 3 yr olds(she works in a day care). I know it is not much to go on but thought I could ask!

Every year around Christmas someone (lots of someones) is doing the nutcracker suite. Absolute must see for any child interested in music. In South Bend the symphony has a children's concert (often Peter & the Wolf)on a saturday afternoon. Wherever you are check into these kind of things.
