I have a ipod touch and I brought a wall charger tha connects to a usp cord from walmart. It also came with a car charger..
Hi Moms-
Can anyone suggest where I can find a cheap but reliable MP3 player? I need one that doesn't recharge in only a computer. I bought one a month ago and now my husband said we need one that is wall rechargeable but he is too busy to find one. I need it so I can play music in my sons room at night so it will be playing all night. Thanks for your help!!

I bought a Sansa Fuze at Costco over a year ago for $99 and I love it! It's about the size of an ipod nano, has 8gb of memory (which is A LOT) real easy to use and synch music from your PC to the player. It does not come with a wall charger but I found one on ebay for $5.00 (incl. shipping) You may even be able to find a wall charger for the one you already have on ebay. I just searched for the name of my player and wall charge and several charges came up.
Most MP3 players today are able to be charged with a cell phone wall charger. If it a regulare, typical USB plug style I know that a blackberry curve charger will work, I did buy an extra phone charger for myne for when I went to work. Otherwise I have several friends that have been able to buy other phone brands of wall chargers
Best of luck to you, I'm think I might end up doin something of that sort with the music for my little one

check out the zen by creative. they have different sizes and the prices are good. my two sons and husband all have them and are really happy with them! www.creative.com
WE got the kids the Sandisk Fuze. About the same look as an IPOD Nano. Much cheaper. Everyone seems to be happy with them. My husband says that it is easier to load media onto it than the IPOD is.
You can simultaneously play and recharge ipods...my wall recharger cost $4 off the internet...you can create the playlists that go into your ipod...my son started with a cheaper mp3 player and found he liked the ipod better...you can get used or reconditioned or new...the itunes software to talk to your ipod is free...costco has them for sale...bestbuy...etc...you may be able to also get the wall recharger at Radioshack to save on shipping charges...Naperville has new apple store so its hard to beat the support available here!
I have an iPod, but also have portable speakers that I plug the iPod into that also charges. You can find these pretty cheap and I am sure they work with different kinds of MP3 players.
We have the Sandisk brand, about $80 for a 4 gig memory unit and they work great, just like a iPod without the price tag. However, BestBuy sells a wall charger that the USB plug goes into. We have one for ours and you simply plug the USB cable into it instead of the computer USB port and then plug it into a wall outlet. Seems like this is what you need. On top of that, we have a converter in the car that plugs into the lighter and provides a regular wall outlet plug. We bought that when I used to use a small tv with VHS built-in in the car. Go to Best Buy and they will show you what I have.
You didn't mention what brand your MP3 player is. I have had 2 brands, Rio and an iPod. For anything that charges from a computer you can get an adapter to plug it into the wall to charge it. For most of them you can get a docking station with speakers to play and charge at the same time. If you aren't comfortable looking for things on-line, try RadioShack or BestBuy, just take your MP3 player with you and they should be able to help you.
Good Luck,
D.
You don't need to buy a new MP3 player unless you want to. Ebay has lots of additional chargers and adapters for MP3 players. We bought a cigarette lighter type charger for the car and a wall charger (similar to a cell phone charger) for anytime we couldn't use the computer to charge. They are very reasonable (probably $5-15 depending on if you want both) and would save you shelling out more money for another MP3 player. Just search for "MP3 charger" you may also want to add what type of MP3 player you have to the search criteria. Hope you find what you need. :)
Did you know you could buy a wall charger that connects to a usb cord.
You can always order a wall charger from ebay, they are cheap and they deliver right to you.
I have a creative labs zen. It can play video or audio. It was around $80 (at costco) for 8 gb with a slot for an extra card. You can plug it in your computer or the wall. I don't remember if I had to purchase the wall plug or not. I think I bought a cheap package on ebay for extras like the skin, arm band, screen protector, car charger... One note, you can not play and charge at the same time. My last mp3 player was also a creative labs (muvo from Amazon years ago), it ran on batteries but it was more for running because of its size but it didn't have enough memory for me. It still works after several years and unlike my zen, it has a built in recordable radio.
keep the one you bought and buy a boombox/docking station for it instead! you can play it all night and it charges in the docking station while playing:)
I have not checked other stores, but I bought the wall adapter for my Zen player at Radio shack.
