Hello everyone!

Just wondering if anyone out there has a good crock pot/slow cooker recommendation for me? We're a family of 3 but do entertain from time to time. I'm looking for something under $50 if possible.

Thanks and Happy Holidays!

Hi J.,
We bought this one a couple of months ago in-store at Walmart and I think I paid $40. Absolutely love it!! Digital timer, keeps food warm when it's done cooking, and crock lifts out for easy cleaning. Super simple. http://www.epinions.com/prices/Crock_Pot_SCVC_609_SS_Stai...

I like my Rival. We got it five years ago. Not sure how much it was but I think it was under $50. We got it at Target.

J. - we have a 6qt. crock pot by Rival. I've seen them at Costco but when I went to the site it said sold out but here's a link to the same ones at JCPenney. I love the fact that this one goes from the cooking time/temp to an automatic warming state when the time is reached. I can add everything and set it before I go to work and even if I only need it to cook for 6.5 hours it will switch to warm after the time is up and be perfect when I get home 8 hours later. It's cooked nice and kept warm so we can get home, wash up and start eating. I also like that it has high and low settings and even the ability to set it just to warm so if the food is already cooked you can add it to the pot and warm it up if you'll only be gone an hour or two.

My fav is actually from my MIL. It is a used one from her. I have found more crock pots in thrift stores than anywhere else. You can get a new one for something like 10 dollars when walmart has a sale (I got my last one (8 quarts or something like that) for 15 dollars). It is bare bones with no timer and only low, high and off but you can always buy a lamp timer and set it for when you want it to turn on and off.

Hello J.. I love my old Rival. I've had it for years and use it quite frequently. It's easy to clean, as well. Good luck!!

Crock pots are the best & I use different sizes for many things. Target has them, even Big Lots has them. If mine breaks I run out & get another one right away. They are all about the same but I usually end up with a Rival. I have even learned to make fake rotisserie chicken in a crock. Just ball up 6 or so large wads of foil & throw in bottom of pot (to keep chicken elevated), put washed, seasoned chicken in on top of foil balls (don't add liquid just the chicken) on low for 8 hours. Turns out so tender you have to use 2 big spoons to lift it out or it will fall apart! You can even bake potatoes in a crock! Just wrap in foil.
