Passion Play is great! The thorncrowne chapel is beautiful! I recommend taking a day trip to Branson there is a lot more to do and it is not too far.

There are a lot of neet caves there and my son loved them when we went. There is also a big cat reservation place it was I think 10.00 a person to go to but it was really cool and educational. There are muesums too. There is a dinosaur park to go to and a snake farm, they were both really cool. We got all this information from the hotel we were staying at.

It's been several years since my last trip, but at the North end of the main shopping street there used to be an old steam engine hooked to a couple of passenger cars that you could ride for a short trip. It goes down several miles, then does a steam blow for some entertainment. It's really fun. The Passion Play is always worth the time. I've never taken the Holy Land tour that is also offered, but have been told it's very nice. Have fun!

My husband and I were married at Eureka Springs ( this year will be ten years ago!!) We also went back for our 5th anniversary, to see the sights more.
It's a great place and we plan to take our daughter in a couple of years!
The place we really loved was Turpentine Creek Exotic Cat Refuge. You can really see the cats ( although not too close, double fencing ) and read their stories. If you are there early in the day, your ticket even allows you to come back in the evening for feeding time. It is a wonderful place! There is more than just cats (tigers, cougars, lions), they also have bears, deer, monkeys and birds. These are all exotic pets that have been rescued from people who didn't know what they were getting into.
The Pine Mountain Jamboree is fun, there is also a rock house that is fun to tour.
The hotel you stay at should have plenty of brocheres to look and places to go. Spring St is fun to wander up and down also.
I'm jealous!! Have a wonderful time!!

I have been to Eureka Springs a few times and my children love the train ride, turpentine creek animal refuge, music moutain jamboree and of course the go carts. The kids loved the caves too. Be sure and go and look at the glass church, i can't remember the name of it but it's made out of all glass and sets in a beautiful part of the hills.

the passion play is a great place to take the kids. It's a little outside of Eureka, but the drive is worth it. Even if you are not Christian, it is very good with a huge setting, big cast, and even live animals. Of course, just walking the downtown and looking around is fun, too. some great kids stores...

The Frog Museum is definitely a must if you have children!!! Walking downtown and shopping in the shops is fun. My little ones are quite a bit younger than yours, so just he people-watching Eureka provides is interesting enough for them. They have a great pizza parlor also, but I can't for the life of me remember its name.

One thing some people enjoy, but my husband and I didn't so much was the Pivot Rock hike. Of course we are from the area, its no more that maybe a 45 minute drive for us to head to Eureka and we live really close to Devils Den State Park, so Pivot Rock just seemed like a bit of a waste of money to us.

D., with Easter coming up a must stop is the Passion Play In Eureka Springs! It is Awesome. It has been years since I have been, so I don't know if they still have the play, but do check it out! I saw it when I was 10 years old and I'm 38 now. Every year I think about that passion play at Easter and how realistic it was and what an impression it made on me as a child. My little brother who was three at the time had been asleep in my moms lap. As he was waking up it began to rain and thunder and at the same time the actor that was betraying Jesus was being taken up into Heaven. My brother said, "Look Mommy! Jesus!" The passion play is outside and the actors are awesome, and the sets are so realistic for biblical days. They also have a musseum of biblical artifacts and bibles. There is also an Aztec Jesus on the grounds.
If it is still there and you guys go to it, I hope you have a wonderful time!

Aw.. You lucky duck...My husband and I went mid Feb and had such a great time. The little art colony thing seems like a really neat place for kids. It's right before you reach the train station on the Main strip. We just had a little romantic getaway so I wasn't really looking for the kid friendly places but it seems as though there would be plenty to do. You guys have lots of fun.
