A website you can sell part of a business? I work for a roofing company doing bookkeeping and they want to add a partner to the company because business is very busy. The owner asked me to take care of this, but I don't have the slightest idea where to post such a thing. Any ideas?

What can I do next?

Here in Bend, we have a Builders Association. I'd contact them and see if you could post your business for sale. In addition to your own area, it might be worth it to contact builders in others locations that have been hard hit by the recession.

You can always list it on Craigslist and more than likely a broker will see the posting and then call you. Otherwise, I would contact a broker. Be careful though, because some of them have ridiculous fees and contracts.

There are business brokers who sell businesses, just like real estate brokers sell houses and commercial properties.

Here is one: http://www.sunbeltnetwork.com/
