I use baking soda and vinegar to clean just about everything in my home. Super cheap, eatable and works better than anything else I've tried.
A mom posted that she was going to sign up for Malelucca and now she is to Shaklee because her findings point to that direction.. I wanted to know if now she was still using it.
I saw in her reading you choice Shaklee? do you still like it or still use it? I have been doing some research myself and find your finding interesting.. but wondering if you are also looking for a company that you can also benefit financially? since Maleluca and Shaklee are both run that way. I found a company called http://biokleenhome.com and trying to compare it with Shaklee, Eco Friendly (Costco), Mrs Meyers and 7thGeneration; did you find this companies in your research if so, why didnt you pick them? or what were your findings if any?
I await your response. Thank you!

I really hadn't thought about all the nasty chemicals that are in the supposedly safe products we use every day...laundry detergent, cleaning products, shampoo, bath soaps, toothpaste. I stumbled on Work At Home United and Melaleuca. What an eye opener! I did the research myself (from outside sources) and decided I wanted to give it a try. I wanted to start building my business to eventually stay at home w/ my daughter (the sooner the better). If I later decided I didn't really want to build a business, I still wanted safer products. The company is ethical and stable, the products are incredible. I am actively trying to build my business and help others make their families and homes safer!
I have been a melaleuca customer for over 6 years now and am also doing the business. I won't compare the companies you have listed, but I LOVE Melaleuca. I have heard good things about Shaklee but there product line is much more limited. Do some research on chemcials in EVERYTHING in your home, especially personal care products, you need to change much more than just cleaning and laundry. If you want more information on Melaleuca, pm me and we can chat sometime soon.
My mom had a close friend who sold Shaklee years ago. She swore by it and I saw it do some good stuff. I know it was "cutting edge" 10 years ago with being eco-friendly.
I don't know about now.
Always make sure your company is organic as it states, I use Certified Organic products and just fell in love with these wonderful products! This company is Australian-based and their skincare, cosmetics, nutritionals, household cleaners, etc really do meet the mark for certifications. Now, they do not offer red lipstick, but what is used to make the red is not good, so they refuse to have it red, although, they are working on a natural way to do it. Like Shaklee, they are a little high, but the products are concentrated, what I started doing is using the samples and trial sizes. As far as I'm concerned, they are the world's greatest products! A trial size will go a long way too! Any company can say it is natural or organic, but research to see if it really is. Check over website for information. I have used Shaklee before and liked it, but I've found nothing to compare with this company.

I use Shaklee but I found this post interesting because it reminded me of this safe chemicals survey I saw on the skinny scoop the other day...you might be interested in it and I believe the site gives a lot of product reviews...check it out:

Hi Hanna
I am a current Melaleuca customer and have been for 3 years in June of this year. I currently have Sarcoidosis, Psuedo Tumor Cerebri (sp?) and some female monthly issues that I used to deal with on a daily basis. Meaning before I changed over to Mela I had severe problems breathing and my eye sight was not that I needed glasses but literally objects would merge together. At any rate I changed my house over to Mela products and started taking their vitamins and believe it or not I no longer have any of the issues...seriously they are Gone!
At any rate Shaklee and Mela there is no comparison to me but that is totally my opinion not to mention Mela recycles and are cheaper in price.
Glad to help!
I am Shaklee all the way. I became such a believer that I now sell myself. As far as "benefiting financially" I have a breakdown of what directors in some of the the top MLM's make. I would be happy to send it to you if you are interested.
Oprah Winfrey has featured Shaklee and all the cleaners in Shaklee's Get Clean Kit biodegrades within 30 days. Basic H2 is made out of corn and coconuts. Pretty darn natural. I also have an online video I can send you a link too that talks about the cleaners.
I love my Shaklee products because they really do clean, don't smell and I trust them to not be harmful. I can breath AND clean!
I like Melaleuca products for many reasons: biodegradable and better for the environment; economical so I'm saving money and the cleaners have multi purposes. The vitamins cannot be beat nor can the hand lotion. As to business, don't have to maintain an inventory or order 100's of dollars worth of products, make delivery or take orders. I would be more than happy to talk to you about the products. Thanks
Biokleen is a good company. So is 7th Generation and Shaklee. I'm not saying the other companies aren't, but I'm not familiar with them. I personally like vinegar and baking soda for most cleaning, but I also don't limit myself to one brand. I use Charlie's Soap for laundry, Shaklee for stain treatment, 7th Gen for dishwashing, and Biokleen for treating my diaper pail, because in my opinion that is what works best. I recommend that you give different products a try and see what works best for you.
My only real advice about choosing green cleaning products is this: if a company doesn't list ALL of its ingredients somewhere on the packaging, don't buy it. Truly green companies want to boast about their ingredients, while green-washed companies want to hide some of their ingredients.
