I currently have a 2002 Acura MDX and I know in the next year or two we will need another car. I want an SUV but not a large one. We have two kids in car seats and if we got the Acadia we would get the two captain seats with easy access to the 3rd row. For those who have an Acadia, What do you think of it?? Pros and cons please!

Thank you!!!

I don't own one yet, but.... I have looked at them as we are in the looking stages of a newer van or a SUV with the third row seating. I love everything about them except the price and where I live, they are hard to find used, so that keeps the price higher of course. Friends of ours have one, he actually works at a GMC dealership and had an Acadia for a few months, his son plays hockey and there was lots of room for a hockey bag with all the gear and room to spare behind the third row and that was important to me.

We've had one for 3 years and I honestly don't have any complaints at all....I love everything about it. Our 2 kids/ car seats are in the middle captain seats, like you said. The third row is kind of tight but for as often as we need it, it's fine. My best advice, especially with 2 kids, is get the remote start... It's greatness! :)

I came (this) close to buying one myself! I did love the look on the outside, but the inside caused me to change my mind. Just 2 cons worth mentioning- The headrests are awful. Hate them! They are tilted way too forward, and there's no getting them set back. and the room in the back if the 3rd row is up kinda limits you. We wanted a larger area for groceries, Etc. And other than that, overall we thought it was slightly too small for us. we went with a 2008 Toyota Sequoia, and have been very happy since we got it in August. But you already said you didn't want a big one.

Love, Love, Love my Acadia! Seriously...I adore that car/crossover/suv whatever it is! It easily fits my 2 kids, a large dog, luggage, me and Dh, with room for groceries, stroller, etc. It drives like a car (with good suspension, steering and gas mileage) and probably holds as much as a minivan, but looks much nicer if you ask me! =0) I've had it since 2009 and would buy it all over again! One suggestion...get the captain's chairs as you mentioned, because with 2 carseats in the, you can't fold them up/out of the way to climb in the back, so you have to walk down the aisle to get in the 3rd row. When grandparents are visiting, we can fit 2 adults in the 3rd row pretty easily...wouldn't drive cross country that way, but fine for day to day! P.S. The 3rd row is SO easy to fold up or down and splits 60/40, so there is a lot of options. Also, get the DVD player! I love that they have the controls for the DVD at the front panel but they also have a remote control for when the kids are bigger and can do it themselves.
Enjoy your Acadia!

Hi S.! I drive a Toyota Highlander and recently I got a 2010 Acadia as a rental while some minor work was being done on my car. We took it for a short trip to southern CA since we had it and the gas mileage seemed to be really bad. It was roomy overall like you mentioned and I LOVED that but for me personally, it felt like the turning radius was very poor and after a few days it felt like I was driving a boat. It seems like you have gotten some positive feedback regarding the vehicle and I would agree with most but after 5 days with it, I was happy to get my car back. Good luck! :o)

I don't have it yet, but that is my next car, soon. I do have two friends with 2 kids each and they love it. One went from a Honda Pilot to the Acadia and the other from a Mercedes GL SUV truck. They both love it. That's about all I can offer for advice.
