My S. has to take the snack for his soccer game on Saturday. I heard another mom say one of the boys is allergic to gluten.

Any ideas on pre-packaged snacks that are gluten free?

What can I do next?

Fruit snacks? You'd have to check the label, but organic ones might be...and Annie's are delicious!

What about fruit; orange slices or grapes or even apple sauce cups...although they'd need a spoon and I don't know if that's conducive to being on the sidelines. What about Go-Gurts?

Most grocery stores have a gluten free section now. They sell pretzels, chips, cookies, all sorts of things that are gluten free. You could always do veggies, apples, or whatever vegetable or fruit is cheap that week. Popcorn is great too.

Schar Chocolate Hazelnut bars. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOD. I happen on this after my sons ped thought he might have Celiacs. But this is more of an adult type treat. But oooohhh so good.

Bananas
Organic Fruit Snacks or Fruit Strips
Organic Popcorn
Gluten Free Pretzles (Glutino brand is good, my whole family eats them)
Veggie Booty
String Cheese (provided the child doesn't also have a milk issue)
Freeze dried fruit
Raisins

Kozy Shack Puddings are gluten free! :) Any fruit or veggie is *always* a good and healthy snack! Kids love berries and melons - even apples or grapes! There are also cake mixes right in the main section that are g-free that you could use to make cupcakes. Good luck.

On a sidenote - our S. is allergic to corn (its in everything!) and gluten and I never expect another parent to bring something specifically for our S.. I provide all of his own snacks for T-Ball, Swimming, Church, etc. Maybe this mom will do the same thing and you don't have to worry! ;)

You got off easy, my child's soccer team snack restrictions are: no peanuts, no milk, no wheat, no eggs, no red dye, no potato chips. That pretty much leaves me with.........apple slices! You could also do baby carrots or string cheese, all of which are sold in individual servings.
