Girls Weekend in Denver

Two of my girlfriends are coming into town for a girls weekend. We've rented a condo downtown. I've lived here for 2 years but don't go downtown too often, especially without the kids. I'm looking for suggestions on good restaurants and bars for Friday and Saturday night. Two of us are SAHMs so we aren't looking for anything too expensive.

Thanks for the help!

Hi K.....LIME on Larimer is a great Mexican place and very reasonable. They also have great mojitos! Then after dinner, head down the street to the comedy works for some laughs :)

Have a great time!

Samba room on 14th and Larimer has a great happy hour 7 days a week. If you are checking in on Friday, you might try Gumbos which gives you a free bowl of gumbo when you order a drink during happy hour. It's on the sixteenth street mall around Blake. Of course, call to confirm or look online.

Have fun!!

Hi, K.,

McCormick's Fish House is located in the lobby of the Oxford Hotel and they have what I think is probably the best Happy Hour in town. The Oxford itself is a beautiful hotel and the lobby is definitely worth checking out. You can go there and have dinner for super cheap and the food is really good. I think they have stuff like burgers for 3 or 4 bucks. You can probably google it and see if you can find a menu.

Another good place to go is called Cafe Colore. It's in Writer Square. It's a little place but the food is awesome and reasonably priced.

Have fun!

As for other things to do downtown with out of town guests, I love taking them to 16th St. Mall.

The Corner Office on 14th and Curtis has really cool drinks and a great Happy Hour. Their food is pretty inexpensive as well. Their website: www.thecornerofficedenver.com

Hi K.,
I would recommend the Rio for dinner. It can get pretty crowded on the weekends, but is a lot of fun and they have excellent food and Margaritas. Sing Sing is a really fun piano bar next to Coors field. Also crowded, but you can make a reservation there. It can get a little rowdy (in a good way) sometimes, but will make for a memorable night.

Have fun with your friends!

Hi! Sounds like a great time. I think that The Samba Room has a good Happy hour that is reasonable for the downtown area. You could always look up the magazine 5280 for good suggestions. Hope you ladies have a great kid free time!

Hello K.,

First off, ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND! You definitely deserve it and what a wonderful idea.

Check out the link below. I went here when one of my girlfriends visited from out of town and we had several good laughs. It was very reasonably priced as well and you can even get tickets last minute! Hope you enjoy yourselves - C.
