Gift Question for All Those Parents of 5 Yr Olds & 7 Yr Old Boys

I'm trying to decide what gift to get my 2 nephews they are 5 & 7 yrs old. They are on the smaller side in terms of height if that matters. I've narrowed my choices down to the new Green Machine or the Razor Riprider 360 and can't decide. Anyone have one or both? Pros and cons?

I thought of getting one of each, but my fear is there would be a favorite and they'd fight over the one. If I get two of the same thing I know they'd be happy with either one. I'm just having a hard time deciding which one. I don't think they have tried either so asking them which one they would want is not really possible. have any of your kids tried both and have a preference as to which they've liked better?

What can I do next?

are these bikes? scooters? never heard of either one. But a suggestion is to ask your sister/sister in law before purchasing either one. If this is something they are asking for them Santa may be bringing it. nothing worse than an inlaw or family member upstaging santa's big gift. just saying... lol

I've got a 5 yr old boy, but unfortunately can't help ya on those 2 choices (don't even know what a Green Machine is!). I think you're right though about it just being easier to get 2 of the same instead of 1 of each.
I was just going to offer a little advice: when I want to know what my son would prefer, we go to the toy store and "see" and "test". Nothing wrong with giving something a test drive in a little circle on an off hour (early on a Saturday or Sunday when it's not too busy yet?).

Did you read the reviews of these 2 products? Via Amazon, you can read the reviews of it there.
There are many reviews, of these items... and the recommended ages for it.

And I guess the other deciding factor would be: do they have someplace to ride these things? Would the parents, not mind these type of things, for their sons? And also, do the boys, have bikes already? A bike with training wheels and/or a 2 wheel bike? Do they ride them regularly?

I have no experience with either (my son will be turning 6 next month, I am planning on getting him a regular bicycle in the Spring). The manufacturer recommends the green machine for ages 8 and up, the Razor for ages 5 and up if that makes any difference to you.

Well, I don't know anything about either of them either. But we did get a Razor 360 2 years ago for my daughter and both the kids loved it. They still ride it sometimes and it is always a favorite with whoever is over here playing with them. My daughter is 10 1/2 now.

So, what I would suggest is the same as another poster mentioned: go to Amazon and look up both items and read all the reviews. That is where I read about the 360 and decided it would be good for us. And it was. I also trusted their reviews on electric scooters (wide variety of power available out there) and found a great one for our son last year. It is NOT a razor. It's an eZip 500, but I wouldn't have known to go with that one without reading the reviews. That can be an amazing resource.... even if you buy it in a b & m store... just read the reviews online.

I saw these in the store today, my 10y hoped right on the green machine.

As a mom, based on looks, I would prefer the Razor. I think the handle bar is more intuitive vs two moving sticks for turning. Also, both Amazon and Target say the GM suggested age is 8+.

Amazon has the Razor on sale right now for $72 with free shipping.
