What can I get for my hubby for Christmas that costs next to nothing?

I don't want to do coupons for things. I've done that in the past and want to come up w/some
small tangible gifts. a bunch of small things. My creative juices are failing right now.

Any ideas from you amazing & creative moms?

What can I do next?

Does he have a favorite candy he rarely indulges in? A favorite coffee or favorite snacks? My dh is impossible to buy for so he usually gets for his birthday: Banquet frozen fried chicken (I never buy stuff like that but he loves it), lemonheads, bottlecap candy, sweet tarts, and a can of sardines in mustard. Oh, and me, I always do something especially "nice" for him at the end of the day ;)

this was for valentines day but what i did one year was i bought a glass jar at target for less than $5 and some colored construction paper. i then cut the paper into little rectangles, wrote one thing i love about him on each rectangle, folded it in half and filled the jar. on top of the lid, i wrote "i love..." and then each paper had something i love about him ranging from the serious to the comical. he liked it a lot :)

Got a basket sitting around? I like to fill baskets with favorite snacks, drinks, candy, etc. Maybe stick in a magazine, book, puzzle book. I've done this for a couple people in my family and they really like that I personalize each one. Cozy slippers? There are a lot of little things that don't cost a whole lot! Trust me, I've had to learn how to cut corners A LOT!!! Of course, a little skimpy nighty isn't very expensive either!! lol!!! Yes, you'd be the one wearing it but it's really a gift for him!!

Good luck and Merry Christmas!!!

For FD, we made him a shirt. I got an inexpensive shirt from Michael's and some paint (you can do all one color) and put handprints from DD on it.

JoAnn's and other craft stores also have inexpensive items the kids can decorate and he can display.

If you take some family photos to a service like Snapfish, you can get a collage print for him. Or you can use pre-printed photos and put them on nice scrapbook paper and in an inexpensive frame, for his office or to display in the house.

I got him a tin of flavored peanuts that didn't cost a lot but I know he doesn't buy them for himself often.

Or get a DVD he might like, and line up a friend to babysit and give it to him with a coupon for a "date night".

I've also gone to craft fairs this year to find interesting and unique items.

Some of Think Geek's shirts are on sale for $10.

Places like Tuesday Morning, Ross Dress 4 Less, HomeGoods, etc. can have quirky things that are inexpensive. If he's sentimental, perhaps a kid centered memento.

And there's always the "wrap yourself in a bow and nothing else" gift - that goes over pretty well ; ) and only costs the price of a long ribbon!

Write a poem for him, your own words and writing.
Then, frame it.
I did this once for my Husband.
It cost "nothing."
And he loved it.

If I put a flimsy red negligee in a box that would be all he'd want. Of course, depending on how old your kids are you might, or might not want to wrap that for Christmas.

How about some sexy digitial photos of you in flimsy negligee - you can set up the camera for auto photos, or have a friend take them for you. Once you find a couple you really like put them in frame but with a G-rated photo as the photo that shows. Whisper to him to tell him to look at the photos underneath the top one in the frame. (Take alot since you'll need dozens to find one or two that you'll really like.) Even if you've put a few pounds on you can still crop the photos so that only the good parts show. Boobs and butt are all you really need to show. Many photo software programs even allow you to "thinnify" you pictures.

Like Dr Laura says - if they're not hungry they're horny - so either give'em a sandwich or sex. That perfectly describes my husband and probably yours too.

And if you're not cool on that jsut make him a photo calendar. Costco's website is the best if you're a Costco member.

You may find some low-cost items for him on Etsy.com. I've been using that site a lot this year to stay on budget.

Do you have a craft store you can get some inexpensive picture frames from? Then print some pics at Walmart or Rite-Aid, etc.

You can get a picture taken of you (a friend could do it) and get it framed for it. It can be classy for his office or sexy just for him...either way, it could be fun for you and relatively cheap. I plan on doing a boudoir photo's for my husband once I get my weight off and body where I'm more comfortable.

Do The 12 Days of Christmas for him!
Start with 12--a dozen pre-hit golf balls or 12 pack of his favorite soda
11--11 favorite candy bars
10--10 coupons for his morning coffee
Etc
All the way down to 1 on Christmas Day.
Things can be as little(or big) as you want.
(And yes, I know that those are not the actual 12 days of Christmas--but they CAN be for this!)
