Whatever you choose to give, include a note saying thank you - and specifics for which you're grateful. Give a copy to the director for their file.

My son is transitioning to a different class. I wanted to give something to his toddler class teachers since they have been so good with him and just love him. Any ideas on what to get the teachers? Something that they can use over time...
Thanks for the suggestions.

Honestly, we get so much that my favorite thing is gift cards! Starbucks, walmart, bath and body works, restaurants, etc. It's always nice! They are usually put into a thank you card. Hope this helps.
the preschool at our church does a very nice thing. They have the teachers fill out a questionnaire at the beginning of the year with their "favs" and these are available in a book that parents can look through. When you have a special teacher that has made a positive impact on your child, you want to do something special to acknowledge their effort and support. I know teachers love gift cards, but sometimes I wanted to do something more personal. So a lot of times, I would combine things---for a teacher that loved scrapbooking, you could get a Hobby Lobby gift card and some stickers for soccer (because you know all her kids play soccer) - Teachers that enjoy movies, I might get movie passes or a blockbuster card. All of these come with a personal note or card from me and a thank you from my child.
As a former teacher, I second the gift cards.
I second Bethany with the gift cards. A gift card to a craft store or teacher store would be wonderful! Supplies are not always covered by the school/daycare and the costs add up quickly. I know you want a gift that would last but a gift card for supplies would show your appreciation of all the extras the teachers do for your son and the other children.
