Hi R., Frst of all welcome to San Diego, were a Military family also, well retired, but still Military, You can give a Gift Certificate for a resturant, those alwys make good gifts. J.
My daughter finishes preschool on Wednesday. I totally forgot to get her teachers a gift. Any suggestions for last minute gifts for her teachers? I would like to get them something different, not the usual "teacher" gifts. I was thinking about making them aprons (they wear them everyday), but not sure if I have the skills or the time now. I would love to hear your ideas. She has two teachers and I would like to spend $30 or less each.

I have a gift basket business and would love to put something together for you. I can do some quick ones on personal products or a health minded basket. ###-###-####

This year I let my children choose the gift for their teachers. They each chose to decorate a heavy duty canvas bag that their teachers could use every time they went grocery shopping. After buying the spray sparkle, bags, and iron on patches I ended up paying about 20 dollars in all. I purchased everything from Amazon.com (they have a huge variety). They cut all the patches into whatever shapes they wanted on the bags an told me were they wanted the shapes to go as I was ironing them on the bag. Then they would spray the fabric with the fabric glitter. After they kidoes were finished the bags looked almost professional.
When the bags were dry (about 1 hour later) we folded them into animals. There are a bunch of web sites that teach "towel folding" or "towel animals" and it was fairly easy to do so long as the straps are tucked inside the bag when you start folding.
Welcome to San Diego! Hope this helps.

That apron idea is awesome! I've been wondering the same thing myself. My son has 4 teachers though so I'll be watching this post closely.
For Teacher's Appreciation day we got some flower pots from the Dollar Tree and planted some pretty flowers in them. We also got them a small amount on Starbucks gift cards.
Hope that helps some.
gift baskets with soaps, bubble balls, cremes, fragrance lotions, sprays and special rolled wash cloths, let the preschooler help you choose everything so it is from them put it in a basket with a special made card. We did this after a year with 2 children in the same classroom and the teacher was glad when the next children came to her class and they were recieved with the knowledge we appreciated her, and her husband appreciated it too. We too live in san diego chula vista. 30dollars is a good amount.
Teachers always love gift cards to there favorite stores!
