Just wanted to check in with you ladies to get your thoughts on what to get my daycare provider for Christmas and what you think is an appropriate spending limit. She doesn't watch him full time anymore but he is usually there at least once and week and she is always available for me at the last minute.

Thanks for your help!

I am a provider of 19 years. I love getting candles and hand lotion. Even a plate of cookies or other treat to share with my family is nice. I also got some great foam hand soap form Bed Bath and Beyond, which I loved. All these thing were great to me becuase I wash my hand 100 times a day and lotion is a must and candles keep the diaper smell away. No huge amount is needed, just the thought IS what counts!

Last year I went to Blockbuster and bought a popcorn bucket and filled it with Blockbuster and PapaJohns gift cards and some movie candy. My provider is a great mom and she really enjoyed being able to share her gift with her family. It was a huge hit. I think I spent about $40 total.

You could even get together with a few other parents and combine your dough to get a nice gift certificate for a pedicure, or home depot... or even like a generic Town Center gift certificate.

Remember it is the thought that counts, and this obviously shows you care!

A $20 restraunt gift certificate is always a nice gift or a real Christmas wreath is a nice gift too...you can get them at the lots where they sell real trees. I have given the wreaths to alot of people and they love them! If they don't like the smell or have allergies, they can hang them outside and still enjoy them! :)

I am EXTREMELY happy with my new daycare provider. I asked her to watch my 3 year-old for a week until I found someone else to do it full time. She enjoyed having him so much she wants to keep him. She is a sahm of a 2-year-old. Her and her husband are in the process of adding a room on to their house and I know they don't have a lot of money so I am getting them a gift certificate to Home Depot or Menards, that way they can get something they need for the house and it is helping them defray some of the costs. I can't afford a lot cause I'm a single mom but I'm getting them a $50 gift card. I am also getting a separate present from my kids to their daughter. This is just one idea I had.

Hi,
Last year my son had only been to his new daycare for about a month. She always had candles burning so I went and got her this really pretty beaded candle holder with candles. I think I spent maybe $15.00. She loved it.
