Gift for Brand New Pre-K Teacher?

So I went and bought my daughter's Pre-K teachers gift cards to Target. Then I find out (yesterday) that she has a new teacher in her room. One of the ones she had (for about 2 months) is moving back to the class she had been with before. I had gotten her a gift card, but now she's no longer there. So, easy, give the new teacher the gift card, right? Well, I already went and wrote the old teacher's name on it. Should I white it out? (I know that's probably tacky!) Plus yesterday when I picked her up, there were 2 other assistant teachers in the room also. I don't know if they are permanent or just there while the new teacher gets settled in. Do I have to buy them a gift too? I can't really afford to get them all gifts. Should I just get them cards? As long as the teachers don't open the cards together, they won't know who gets a gift card and who doesn't right? Please advise. I'm new to this whole giving teachers a gift thing. (I'm a teacher and I'd rather not get anything from my students - I'd rather they just did their work in class, but I teach high school, so . . .)

What can I do next?

I agree with the previous poster about giving the teachers she's had the longest the original gift cards and just giving the new one a Christmas card. I am in the exact same predicament, and knowing myself the way I do, I will not practice what I preach and will give all three teachers something. But then again, I care too much about other people's feelings at times!

BTW, what a gift it would be if our high school students would do their work!! I'd take that over anything!!

Good luck and enjoy your Christmas break!!

I would go with your original plan and give the previous teacher the gift card and since the other teacher is so new, just get her a Christmas card.

I would give gift cards to the teachers who were with your child the longest and just cards or baked goodies for the others. Nobody should take offense to that! Go as you planned!

This is exactly why I make cookies and give a few out to each teacher and assistant in a cute cookie tin from the dollar store. Its inexpensive and you can always have enough gifts to go around.

There's a good chance that Fingernail polish remover will take off the marker... If you'd rather change the name.
