Ghost Costume

I know this is jumping the gun a bit but I am a procrastinator so will probably not get anything done til last minute anyways BUT my almost 3 year old thinks its pretty funny to put a blanket on his head, shut off the lights and pretend he is a ghost. Thankfully, it is a funny thing to him and not a scary thing. I think he's been watching a little too much Scooby Doo with his big brother but wherever he got it from I would love to make him into a ghost for Hallowe'en. Obviously white sheets will be involved but I would like to make it a little safer than the usual over the head and eyes cut out costume our moms used to make when we were kids. Has anyone seen a homemade ghost costume that seemed to be pretty safe as far as seeing through and not tripping over is concerned? Or do you know if any websites that have ideas for costume design? I don't want this to be a tough costume but am looking for a few ideas to make it safer and also be comfortable.
Thanks
K. H

So What Happened?

Thanks so much. I didn't even think of using a hooded sweatshirt or a hooded shawl. The ski mask is also a great idea as well. Thanks for the responses, I am so glad I asked. Now to figure out something for my 8 year old.

Have you thought of having him wear a white hooded sweatshirt and then cut out the sheet to go around the neck and not over the head. You could probaly tape some glow sticks under the sheet and simply paint his face white(or not). I can sometimes find ideas at www.familyfun.com . Good luck and have a safe and happy Halloween.-H.

When my twins wanted to go as ghosts I cut out the face and pined the sheet to thier coat after it was on them. Pins on the shoulders and front and back. This alowed me to make sure it would stay in place. I was able to pin it up so they would not trip but it still looked long. I didn't bother with the white face paint but I put a bow on thier head so they were "girl" ghosts. They were only 2 1/2 so the neighbors were ok with no face paint. Have fun !!

I made a big white clook for my guy when he wanted to be a ghost. The type with a big hood. Then I painted his face white with dark circles under his eyes. Here's a link with the pattern.

I was a ghost one year and couldn't see a thing :o)
If I were you I'd cut out around the whole face and then paint his face white. Also be sure to make it short enough so that he can climb up steps.
Have fun,
J.

You could make a shall type blanket to cover him from neck down and keep him warm and then buy a white ski mask for his head.

Use some grey spray on hair coloring and some white, grey, and black face paints and then use the sheet on the body you could even find some plastic chains for him to rattle. All of these things are pretty easily found around halloween time.
